This show comparable to Angel?

"Supernatural" feels like a hybrid of "The X-Files" & "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"/"Angel". So, I'd definitely HEAVILY RECOMMEND "Supernatural" if you're a fan of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" & "Angel"

Supernatural delves deep into Christian mythos, to the point that I'm surprised that they even let it air. lol They haven't touched on Jesus yet, though.

It's because it airs on "The CW". The showing airing on "The CW" has been both a blessing and a curse for the show. Some of the positives of the show airing on the "The CW" is that show has got to run for 8+ seasons. It would ended years ago if it aired on 1 of the Big 4 networks. It wouldn't be allowed to dive in the Christian Mythos as much if it aired on 1 of the Big 4 networks. Some of the Negatives are the show hasn't received any Emmy or Golden Globes love. The show definitely would've received at least some for Season 4 if it aired on 1 of the Big 4 networks. The cast & crew of the show would've been bigger household names.

Have you watched Season 8, yet?

Chuck was not god. He was a prophet.

i thought it was pretty cut and dry that chuck is god. how many prophets in the supernatural universe can can teleport, or write life how they see fit?

At the Rob Benedict Panel at Jus In Bello Italy 2011, Rob confirmed that Chuck is in fact God. He explains that other members of the cast, as well as Eric Kripke himself had asked him how it felt to play God. Source

it's.... it's not that I'm not enjoying Season 8.

It's just that

1. It's gotta be damn near impossible for a show to fully bounce back after a season like season 7. Season 7 damn near killed this series. I'm still recovering. It made me think back. Alll the way back to season 1. We got introduced to Them Boys and their crapsack world... we watched them do the damn thing. The had their happy moment at the end of the season, then that truck came out of nowhere and left you wondering what the fukk happened, right?

Season 7 was that truck.

2. I'm on the 90 day No Fap No Porn challenge and Kevin's Mom ain't making it easy. I had to fall back, brehs. :to:

And while I do like Benny, it feels.... weird to see Dean go back on his principles. Dude's been an unrelenting machine for the last 7 seasons.

They also got him looking like a Vietnam vet right now. Having flashbacks and shyt.

Don't feel shame breh... Kevin's mom had me flashback to my 10th grade year when I had a algebra teacher that looked just like her. Always wished she would ask me to stay after class for "extra credit"... but the extra credit never came :sadcam:

Still hanging in there, slowly but surely.

I'm kinda getting tired of Cas getting the short end of the celestial stick.

I hate how the shyt with Benny and Dean played out. Was that really necessary?

Finished the episode with their grandfather, Abbaddon and the Men of Letters this morning. I felt like they could have done SO much more with dude's character.

He comes from the past with all of this... Esoteric knowledge that neither them nor their dad nor Bobby had.... after having all of this guilt knowing that John swore he just bounced on them... they still go on to find the MOL main headquarters...

dude could have been like Supernatural's version of Captain America or some shyt. lol Training The Boys in MOL's ways, passing on the legacy and making them more of what they were supposed to be as opposed to what they are. It would have come across as a natural evolution for all three of them and Hunters in general.

BUT NOPE.
