Now that I realize that I looked at the pilot the wrong way, I re-watched it today.
It's definitely written as a comedy, its just that the actors' comedy timing in the pilot was off and visually it's filmed to look dark.

On second viewing, I suspect that the wife may have poisoned him. The first time I didn't catch that the new agreement gives her double voting power in the even of his death.
No one signed it tho so that would be a huge risk on the wife's part.
Plus he survives if you seen the upcoming preview at the end of the episode.

I think she thought he would get it signed right away, then die.

The common theme is that EVERYONE has a "cunning plan" to get power, but the all backfire because they're not as smart as they think they are and always miss something. They're all just smart enough to fail.

E.g.:
-The oldest son is smart enough to to manipulate the Asian website guy into forcing his family to back him. But he's not smart enough to listen to his brother's warning that EVERYONE else flat out refused to take the CEO job.

-Cousin Greg "strategizes" to back the Shiv vs Roman with the documents because the sister is more "bossy", but in the end he probably made the wrong choice because they all get behind naming Roman as COO and Shiv doesn't even work for the company.

-Shiv's boyfriend thinks this the perfect moment to propose marriage to increase his chances of moving up in the company, but he's to stupid to realize it just exposes himself as a weirdo.

-Roman begged to get Frank fired then acted innocent... actually that didn't backfire on him yet

Hmm. . . I don't think your theory completely works but maybe.
Also, Alan Ruck's character is the oldest not Kendall.
And I think Cousin Greg has the papers but didn't want to present them to Roman in front of Shiv. He's saving it for later.

True, I forgot about the real oldest brother and his "I'm not saying you should pick little old me, but..." attitude.

At this point "finding" the papers is moot anyway, it just makes him look as incompetent as Roman thinks he is, plus Logan is waking up.

Greg will give them to Roman soon enough and snitch out Shiv. He wants to be on everyone's good side.

Even that would backfire, if Greg isn't smart enough to pick up how "inappropriate" Roman is acting to his sister
Shiv: "Are you wearing your Date Rape cologne?"
Roman: "You WISH"
Shiv: :scust:

It’s weird. I think the show is ok so far but have yet to been able to sit through a whole episode without falling asleep. shyt seems super long for some reason.

I felt the same way, until I realized it was a comedy. When I first saw the pilot it was hard to get through. Then I rewatched it later and started picking up the jokes I missed.

Finishing the 2nd episode this shyt is great.

The amount of times this has made me laugh out loud

I bet you say control the narrative when you cum :mjlol:

I'm sorry if the bell summoned you :russ:

This shyt really is low key like a more serious arrested development

:russ::russ::russ: That line absolutely killed me.

that worked in his favor, he correclty predicted that the chick would have more influence than the fukkhead Roman, Roman would have still left him twisted in the wind, I enjoy the performances but he doesn't really want to wear the Infinity Gaunlett, how do you brainstorm porn? :mindblown:

what the show does show is that people in boardrooms do have a lot of bad ideas, we should be thankful, never see the light of day. We always complain about the stuff that does come out, i.e.: Star Wars, DC

It would be hilarious in the end if Greg turns out to be the best "strategizer" out of all of them in the end maneuvers himself into being the only heir.
