he spittin facts tho. that nicca is an overrated actor, always gotta play some eccentric weirdo in his filmsChanneling his inner Logan. lol
Yes, despite moving like he lacks confidence and isn't sure what he's doing what he did last ep was the smart play. He was able to not pick sides while hiring a lawyer and didn't have to use his own money either. Now that he is set up legally and not tied to either side both Ken and Logan have to come to him for his cooperation. If he lawyered up with either side that side would have him for the duration of the fight.Greg isn't dumb. He's too earnest and polite, but not quite stupid. Pretty much nobody on this show is dumb, which is why it's so entertaining.

Despite all that it is better to have a lawyer autonomous to either side. And that entire plan they have puts Greg in whistleblower status which offer protections everyone else working for the company have yet to secure. That includes Ken and Roman. But you're forgetting who got him the lawyer and what the lawyer said to him when they visited.
The anti-capitalist lawyer and his anti-capitalist Grandad are gonna use Greg to "expose the structural contradictions of capitalism as reified in the architecture of corporate America" which Greg didn't understand.
Then the lawyer said "you're our little wedge Greg. A nice little wedge to open up the hood and have a poke around in at Waystar" His Grandad has a smile on his face at this point.
Finally, when Greg said he was focused on not going to jail or being fired, the only thing the lawyer said was "eyes on the prize, Greg"
Greg is not in a good position here, either. They want to use him, they weren't there to help or save him.
Some of y'all are as lost as Greg

Now last season weren't people about to come forward regarding the cruise ships scandal and Shiv and the company squashed it. But was it also revealed Greg's grand Dad was encouraging people to come forward as well?Yeah, I often fall into the trap of calling everyone on the show "idiots", but the real truth is they're ALL smarter than average. Its just that some of them (especially Shiv and Kendall) are not nearly as smart as they think they are. Greg's as smart as they are, but he has an edge over them because he's smart enough to not think that he's smarter than he really is.
I interpret this differently than you do.
When Greg pointed out that he was focused on not going to jail, I took that as him SEEING THROUGH the lawyer and realizing that all anti-capitalist stuff was not in his interest.
But he has to play along, because part of what he's trying to do is to get back into the good graces of his grandfather. He's not going to embarrass his grandfather, but when it comes down to he he's smart enough to know not to take the fall personally in the interest of bringing down corporate America. There's almost zero chance that Greg is going to allow himself to take the blame for any of this stuff.
