Game mode is basically Steam but more focus on the handheld gaming side. Sort of like Big Picture mode for the regular desktop app.

so is that just using it to focus on steam link games or does that include using xbox cloud services too?

also random but can I play the steam deck on a monitor and leave it plugged into the dock (so as not to worry about battery life) and use it as a gaming PC?

You could add a Xbox Cloud app to it but you would have to create the app so it can load easily through Game Mode:



And yes you can use it as a gaming pc. I did that for a few games and the shyt was like having a glorified Switch with unlimited possibilities.


Hell, just last night I hooked up the Deck to the TV so my family and I watch a movie. So you pretty much good all around from a gamer perspective to just using it as a regular PC.

What type of games you play?

My recommendations:

• CSGO- If you a FPS breh, this game scratches the itch. Its a bit on the tactical side, but for the most part I fukks with it.
• Rimworld- This game is basically The Sims but on Acid. If you love sci-fi, simulation, and story building type of games, you can't go wrong with this game.
• Civilization Series- Drugs...that's all I got to say
• Gunfire Reborn- Been playing the hell out of this game lately. Its basically a roguelike FPS game with animals.

That's all I can think of off top the head that are legit PC exclusives.

I am content knowing that this is essentially the PC version of the switch in that it can be played handheld or docked and connected to a TV/monitor…so now I feel comfortable creating a space for it with all my other gaming shyt…I’ll use it for exclusives and maybe double dip and throw some indies in there when I’m traveling

It should automatically go offline since it relies heavily on wifi. When I take my jawn with me, I can easily play the games without issues other than no multiplayer type of stuff.
