You are over thinking an irrelevant plot point. This movie has magic rings, hidden imaginary lands and flying dragons and monsters. It's not going for realism, especially regarding the affordability of plane tickets. lol

What I’m saying is you kinda missed the backstory with Shang Chi.

Yes he was living in an apartment and working as a valet worker….. but dude clearly didn’t go to the US with no cash

His family is wealthy and he pretty much a prince, you saw how show Katy was about his “family house” while him and his sister was just like “yea we grew up here”

Of course he bought Katy’s ticket (cuz what is a damn plan ticket to him)….. maybe it’s some simp shyt or maybe not. But Shang Chi got money

I just googled a flight from San Francisco to Macua. It was $624. Even when I was at my brokest I could throw that amount on a credit card in an emergency.
