I just saw the matinee.

I enjoyed it, was it better than John Rambo? No, but it was good in its own right.

The media is trashing it because you can’t depict anything negative about any Latino countries, no matter how accurate, due to their beef with Trump.

It was a short movie, but I thought it was well-paced. Stallone had to devote some screen time to showing his relationship between he and his niece. I enjoyed the barrio scenes in Mexico, it really is like that. I don’t want to spoil anything but on the rare occasions when the cartel lets you walk out of their stronghold alive, it’s because they want you to carry the pain of knowing they murdered your love one(s).

I particularly liked how Rambo went to work devising the traps on his farm. Almost every kill was a Mortal Kombat fatality. I feel his spoiled us with the kills in John Rambo though, but the kills in here were still really good and creative. The main villain was cool too, I wouldn’t mind seeing him in more movies, I thought he had good screen presence during the few scenes that he had.

These type of movies are now considered toxic masculinity, so enjoy it while Hollywood is still making them because its days are numbered.

If you don’t like gratuitous violence this movie is not for you.

Stallone should have had a transgendered sidekick, then the media would have hailed it as a masterpiece.

Her homegirl immediately comes off phony and aggressive when they meet. Safe to say she works for the Martinez brothers, but why sell out her own friend? The pay off was a regular degular gold bracelet??
