I still take both of them over that lil bytch.

It's like Braden told him, He's a silver spoon ass kid just like him. All he had to do was sit his stupid ass down but nahhhhh he fukked EVERYTHING up for his family singlehandedly.

Got his sister killed.
Killed his dad.
Made it to where his mom had to go into witness protection.
Made his Grandma have to play mom again at 62 years old.
Just completely fukked Yaz's life up before it could even start. :snoop:

Man Fucck Tariq :stopitslime:

I fully agree with you. While I'm glad the show is finally acknowledging that Tariq is dangerous and everything is his fault, I find it funny that they're doing it now. When he's at least calmed down and he's not as insufferable as he used to be.

How many years have we been talking about this? How many times have we pointed out all the fukked up shyt Tariq did, and the show's response was to justify his actions every time? Write him like the hero, have him avoid punishment, and make him even more unlikable every time he took a breath? The show really made it look like we were insane for not liking him. Book II is the vindication, when everything we've said about Tariq for the past four or five years is being said by actual characters now. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy it. :banderas:

They’re two different versions is well off. It always made sense for Tariq to turn into this because of who his parents were. It’s not like Ghost was a legitimate businessman and politician from the jump, he was ALWAYS a drug lord and criminal and murderer. Sending your kid to private school isn’t gonna stop them being exactly like you are and following your example.

Coli brehs really think that everyone gets into the drug game out of pure desperation and ghetto living.

These nikkas love Ghost. They lose all common sense. You cant be Rayful Edmond and expect to raise Barack Obama. Tariq was an annoying little shyt in the OG Power but, him wanting to follow after Ghost is kinda realistic. Nikkas always want to overly criticize black shows but, accept similar storylines in other shows. No one said Jackie Jr. trying to rob card games when he was a spoiled rich white kid was unrealistic. We just called him a dumbass for being so weak but, had he been a real one, we would've loved his character. In that same show you had Little Carmine who pretended to be a dumb rich civilian only to be just as much of a crook as his mobster pop was. No one called it unrealistic. TBH, most of the Soprano characters didn't HAVE to be mobsters. They chose that lifestyle because they were mesmerized by it and because they were shytty people. Like Tariq. Nikkas just need to watch the show and shut the fukk up.

I hope they don't kill of professor Milgram, it would be ridiculous even for Power standards for Tariq to kill 2 professors and get away with it

Who says that Tariq has to be the one to do it? Monet will have every reason to do it herself once she finds out about the deal between Milgram/Lauren and how it would eventually lead to Cane getting locked up.

The difference between The Sopranos and Power is that we were never supposed to take characters like Jackie Jr. seriously. The Sopranos was GOAT when it came to showing the realistic consequences of idiots who tried to get involved in the mob. Matt and Sean were being disrespected by everybody for being stupid groupies, and they thought that they should kill Christopher to move up in the mafia. What happened? They couldn't even finish the job, Sean got himself killed because he couldn't take off his seat belt, and Matt ended up getting filled with bullets, with a Diet Fanta as his last drink and piss running down his leg.

Jackie Jr. tried to become a mobster even though nobody took him seriously and Tony kept telling him to stay away. He robs the card game with made guys while high on crank, and fukks it up by shooting/killing players of the game. What happens next? He gets killed randomly in broad daylight, then gets made fun of for being a dumbass that almost drowned at the penguin exhibit.

Tony made it clear that he didn't want A.J. involved in the life and he wasn't built for it. When A.J. actually thought he would be able to kill Uncle Junior, he dropped the knife he was going to use and couldn't even escape fast enough. The only reason he didn't go to prison was because of Tony's connections, and you know what Tony said to him when he compared it to Michael Corleone killing those guys in The Godfather? "It's just a movie. You have to grow up."

If Power was anything like The Sopranos, Tariq would want nothing to do with the life after Kanan and Jukebox kidnapped him. He would go back to playing basketball and video games, eating Doritos and honey buns in his room. But the show actually took him seriously. They wrote it to where Tariq was always a real gangsta and he was just like Ghost, instead of writing him like some stupid kid acting out because his dad cheated and his best friend was killed.

What Power did with Tariq is the equivalent of Jackie Jr. becoming a legitimate mobster, getting his own crew, and eventually being the one to kill guys like Vito or Phil Leotardo or even Tony himself. :scust:

Nah breh. It is realistic that Tariq would want to follow after Ghost. And I brought up the Sopranos because most of the characters on that show fit the same profile. Almost none of them had to become criminals. They were all mostly multi-generational mobsters who followed in their parents footsteps. Jackie Jr. was just a character portrayal of someone too stupid and too weak to do it but, he was really no different than Tony or Christopher or Little Carmine. Had he not been a dumbass, not killed anyone in the card heist and if Jackie Sr. or Richie Aprille was still alive, his story might have turned out different. Going back to the other characters. If you watched Many Saints, Tony grew up in a nice 4 bedroom house in Newark. His pops clearly gave him a middle class lifestyle. He was going to Seton Hall. He didn't have to be a mobster. Look at his sister Barbara. Tony became an evil muthafukka anyway. Chrissy could have went legit too. I know Tony would have gave him bread for whatever like he did for Artie. Little Carmine's dad was the boss of one of the five families in New York. He grew up rich and acted like he belonged at a Wall Street bank. Still became a mafia don anyway with Butch by the end of the show. Bobby. Dude should have been running a flower shop or something. Cac was way too nice to be a mobster. All them white boys chose the game just like Tariq. Some people gonna always be attracted to the money and the grimy lifestyle regardless breh.

I'm sure there are many characters in crime dramas that didn't necessarily have to be involved in crime. But there's a difference between someone like Tony, who had other options but was a skilled criminal, and someone like Jackie Jr. who didn't have the aptitude for anything, much less being a mobster.

Tariq was literally just a normal kid in the beginning. Like @CHICAGO said, Ghost didn't expose him to that life at all. He was completely insulated from it. All he did was go to Basketball City, play video games, and eat Doritos and honey buns in his room all day. Then he started acting out because of what was going on with Ghost and Tasha. Normal teenage shyt. In season four, he was still :gucci: at the idea of Ghost being a criminal and a murderer. He listened to Kanan because he felt like Ghost was a liar, and it was clear that he was overwhelmed by being in the streets, but nothing that happened to him steered him straight. It was just bad writing, and eventually, it morphed into Tariq always having the potential. Had he never met Kanan, there would be no potential.

Characters like Tariq aren't supposed to get far. They get exposed as wannabes and are snuffed out as soon as possible. That never happened to Tariq. The writers kept playing fantasies with him, making him out to be the ultimate street dude, even though nobody wanted to see it and it was destroying the show. Now, Book II is them cleaning up their own mess and acknowledging that they made a mistake. If they had that energy in season five or six of the original show, we wouldn't be here now.

But he did meet Kanan :mindblown: and Ghost was his father :mindblown: you can't take that away :mindblown: It don't matter that Ghost kept Tariq away from it when he was a kid. He discovered who Ghost was later on and that would have always happened because you not gonna hide being a major drug trafficker from a teenager :mindblown:

Take the show out of it.

Let's picture this is real life for a moment.

You read a news story about a drug dealer with multiple suspected killings connected to him getting murdered in his nightclub after running a drug operation for decades. Years later, you read about his son going to prison for murdering his teacher. What are you thinking after reading this headline? Are you gonna think this kid had a great, stable upbringing or are you gonna think this kid was fukked from the beginning. Be real here :childplease:

Yes it does. Tell 50 Cent his story doesn't make sense. That nikka did more dirt than everyone on this forum and he chose to write this storyline.

It don't matter that Tariq didn't know when he was a kid. He got exposed to it when he was a teenager and went out there like a dumb 16 year old kid would do. He found out his dad was fukkin Rayful Edmond and you think that's not gonna shape a teenager's mind :childplease:
