NORE openly says he feels Nas is the GOAT tho. AZ was just with Nas not long ago. Rae and Ghost always with Nas. Lol. And Scarface says Nas is the best any chance he gets.

Do you think it's because Scarface did a Favor for a Favor for Nas?

I dont think so. They've done like 5 songs together. Face just always been a huge fan of Nas. Face has also done about 4 songs with Jay but he always makes sure Nas is who he names in his top.

So I just saw a tweet that said the Common/Pete Rock album is the number 1 selling rap album in the US this week...its October and it dropped in July.
The person said its because the physicals started shipping out this week. This sorta made sense cause we all have seen in recent years people cop vinyl and CD for albums the week the album is released, but it dont be shipping out until weeks and months later.

I remember the plug saying Nas' physicals dont count to first week sales cause they ship late and it got me thinking and when do they count...did the Nas/Hit Boy albums get any boost in sales from it when they finally shipped? I didnt hear or see anyone say anything about the albums returning to Billboard because of it. But then again I gotta check what chart the Com/PR album was tracked on and is it different than the Billboard 200;

I wonder if albums should have copies ready to ship first week or it dont work like that cause its a made to order thing.

Like I gotta believe when Nas and Primo finally dropped regardless of how it turns out the old head/vinyl rap fans will cop off principle. But will Mass Appeal kinda allign things in a way for an ok first week. Or does it even work like that?

Im just speculating and wondering what everyone else thinks, or does it even matter lol

Although huge names in hip hop, these are pretty much independent acts, it simply doesnt make sense to press cds in advance anymore without having a very clear idea of the demand for it. Once they find out how the project is received, then they are comfortable to put out different formats, nobody is willing to take risks anymore.

MUSIC DOES NOT SELL ANYMORE, IT'S JUST BEING CONSUMED

to some of us, liner notes, producer credits and all that matter but we're dinosaurs breh its a different era

Its very hard nowadays to have Vinyl and physicals ready to ship the week OF because there aren’t that many pressing plants left to fill demand. Artists like Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish and Beyonce can do it because they book and pay for pressings months in advance, so they kind of have a mini-monopoly on it. Thats why legacy artists and even popular-but-not-quite-superstar artists Vinyls and physicals don’t ship until months later.

Tyler The Creator and Childish Gambino are examples of artists who have put out Vinyl versions of older songs and sold boatloads enough to re-enter the Billboard 100. If i’m not mistaken Tyler even recharted at number 1 with one of his vinyl re-releases.

You're absolutely correct. While I'm glad vinyl sales keep increasing it's getting annoying watching some of these artists flood the market with shyt. Friend of mine works at a record store and is always complaining about the avalanche of Adele albums that flooded stores. Sure the album sold a lot for a good period of time but it was over produced well beyond the actual demand. Taylor Swift does it too although I'll admit she sells just about everything that gets shipped. It's still annoying that they don't just produce a set amount periodically which would increase demand and make her shyt matter more.

A Nas/Premo album is going to have a lot of demand on vinyl, especially in Europe. But with Kendrick and god knows who else likely eating up pressing factories in the near future those things are gonna be super delayed. So if that happens don't blame Nas, Mass Appeal, etc!
