somebody on reddit was asking this question a while back and i was intrigued enough to go along with it:
JAY‐Z Setlist at Webster Hall, New York
how did you guys react when Jay did his 2019 Webster Hall concert line-up featuring Nas? Did you guys pick up the subtleties that Jay performed 4 tracks going at Nas back to back with Some People Hate, Don't You Know, Come and Get Me, and People Talkin' at the beginning of the concert?
https://www.thecoli.com/threads/jay-z-doing-a-b-sides-2-show-to-re-open-webster-hall-on-april-26-for-“day-1-fans”.703371 I was looking at this thread and nobody addressed those subliminal records
When Ether came out on December 4th, 2001 as a single (Jay's birthday), Jay did 2-3 rebuttal songs before he scrapped together Supa-Ugly with the help of Irv Gotti, borrowing bars from past cormega disses, etc

1) Don't You Know had an original version where Jay was going at Nas directly before Jay cleaned up (most of) those diss lyrics for the Paid in Full OST
JAY-Z – Don't You Know Lyrics | Genius Lyrics but when you read the updated lyrics, it still had subliminal diss references to Nas
2) People Talkin was Jay's 2nd or 3rd attempt to rebuttal Ether and went on the "Unplugged" 2001 album to compete with Nas' album release date of Stillmatic on Dec 18th 2001
3) Come and Get Me was Jay mocking Nas' Come Get Me, when Nas first found out that Carmen was with Jay.
4) Some People Hate was on blueprint 2 and had the weakest subliminals going at Nas..every song of Jay mentioning "Son" was a subliminal jab at Nas from Show You How to 99 Problems
^for all 4 songs, you have to read the rapgenius annotations to get all the subliminals, about cutting off the nose off the sphinx, etc
...people were joking on other websites that Nas was waiting backstage while Jay was performing those disses live, some for the first time, and I guess Jay had to vent out his frustrations IN fukkING 2019 -- people blame other fans for holding grudges against rappers for so long, what if those grudges are still coming from the source? with jay still competing against Nas on release dates, etc
...Jay is the type of person who would diss 2Pac "live in concert" after Pac had died just to get a chip off Jay's shoulder, so I don't put anything past Jay's pettiness to perform diss songs when the subject of those disses is sitting backstage
Here's The Story Behind Jay Z's 'Scathing' Never-Released 2Pac Dis
even for jay's b side concert, jay had to throw in his joe budden subliminal diss with pump it up every time just to prove a point about his catalog
