What the hell is Nas cooking up? I want to know. We have discussed this topic several times but Nas has been working on several incarnations of his next solo album for years. I don't think we are getting anything this year but the question is why? Nas and his business aspirations aside. What is the music industry/hip hop reason he hasn't dropped, I wonder. If its that he is still working on it, then let that shyt be known. We starvin' out here. :feedme:
Why we havent got his real album the last few years I'm not sure. I think he was probably gearing up for a release earlier this but corona kicked in. That messed up alot of plans for everyone. One of managers did post music coming soon the other day, so maybe it is still coming?

I wonder just how much music Nas had in the can post LIG. At one point, there were articles and articles about him in the studio recording. We talked about this here before. If there was ever one conversation I could have with Nas, I would ask him about his initial plans for each album and how those initial plans compare with the version of the album that we got.

Am I tripping or were Life Is Good and GKMC two of the last memorable rap albums that had bonus tracks? I feel like once streaming took over, albums got longer and labels stopped doing the traditional Target/Best Buy/etc exclusive bonus tracks.

Yeezus, Born Sinner, and Nothing Was The Same came out a year later and I don’t remember them having bonus tracks.

Born Sinner definitely had bonus tracks (Truly Yours 3 is tracks 17-21)

Nothing Was The Same had a “Deluxe” version that included Come Thru and All Me.

I forgot about Truly Yours 3 damn. Don’t remember the Drake tracks but then again I only remember like half that album, if that lol.

In terms of LIG I thought all the bonus tracks were very strong. Black Bond doesn’t fit the album theme I guess but the rest could easily be added. Especially Trust which feels like it could have come after Accident Murderers. Roses felt like it could be the first relationship focused song on the album.

He should have just added trust to the deluxe version. I wonder why he didn't?

Trust was an itunes only bonus back when itunes bonus tracks were still a “thing”.

It wasn’t available on CD at all.

Drake, Saigon, Watch The Throne, Rick Ross and a bunch of other rappers around that time (2010-2013) usually dropped an itunes bonus track with the album. This was before CD’s has died so I guess with itunes it was added incentive.
