Oh well...this pick is incredibly boring but I can see why Mitt did it.
He is already tied to the Ryan Budget Plan so why not have the dude who wrote it do the defending of it; Ryan as the pick also signals that the Romney campaign's plan once he is the nominee and can start using all of the money he has raised is to focus exclusively on the economy/deficit/fiscal matters which is not an Obama strength; hopefully moves Wisconsin from being in play to being solidly a Romney state.

I would have preferred a more colorful pick but I am sure the absurd over the top attacks from the Dems in the next few weeks should be good for shyts and giggles.

Best part of the announcement though was Mitt introducing Ryan as the next president of the US like Obama almost did when he introduced Biden.

Obama supporters are going to prematurely celebrate though, I see it already in here. Ryan is going to get the Republican voter base excited. Him being so outspoken against Obama's budget kind of endeared him to them. And he could very well get a lot of the Independent votes for Romney.

Its a gift to those wacky Tea Party folks though...Ryan is one of the dudes they like and say what you will about the Tea Party but they mobilize like crazy for elections.

When it comes to entitlements these old CACs lookout for their own interests. It's a reason why entitlements are called the 3rd Rail of US politics. Bush tried to partially privatize SS and failed miserably.

I am perplexed about this pick though. But I think this will be good because it gives a clear choice to the populace and I believe Conservative ideas will be rejected once again.
