Paul Ryan is that dude! I would prefer him at the top of the ticket...a well spoken conservative with true philosophical conservative convictions...

But none of it is confirmed yet when I made the thread I didn't know everyone was saying Ryan thought it was down to 4 guys and a wild card choice

They think Paul will bring Wisconsin and hopefully that'll spill over to Ohio.

I could understand if he won a statewide election, but this dude is a congressman. He'll no doubt carry his district, but what about the rest of the state :merchant:

They got to be doin the banana in the tailpipe, no way this real.

The VP debates would be a massacre.

Not saying its going to work, just what they're thinking. Plus Walker just won a statewide election in Wisconsin so they're hoping to build off that.

And you should go back to Burrrgood or Mechanic. Taxman is wack without the rep wars.

That's a dumbazz plan. Walker was kissin Obama's azz during that recall. Knowing Dems were voting for him just becuz they didn't believe in the recall. Many of them said they'll vote against him in the next election, but will not support the recall. And even if they take Wisconsin, Ohio don't give a sh1t about them.

I've gotten use to this name. I never thought the Coli would amount to sh1t, so I didn't put much thought in my name :sadbron:

Burrgood and Mechanic seem like another life ago :leostare:

Life ago?:ld:

Obama supporters are going to prematurely celebrate though, I see it already in here. Ryan is going to get the Republican voter base excited. Him being so outspoken against Obama's budget kind of endeared him to them. And he could very well get a lot of the Independent votes for Romney.

No...he's not going to get Independent votes. Quite the opposite. He'll end up scaring them off. And exciting the republican base does nothing for Romney at this stage.

Have you read any of his budget? I'm sure the far right will be giddy, but independents and moderates...:usure:

I don't think the details of that budget got enough press. I honestly don't think the majority of the population even knows what's in it. But they will soon:troll:

i just now found out he picked a vp. ryan shouldn't be surprisin and yet he is. i'm almost positive that if rubio hadn't been so insisten t on NOT runnin then it woulda clearly been him imo, but i see nikkas in here celebratin ryan as the pick when honestly, i see him as the trump card... if we're bein honest with ourselves, the country is clearly becomin more progressive. romney's lack of a spine doesn't deter that at all so the republicans needed somebody hard right (but not TOO hard right) that would help keep their whole "traditional values" bullshyt alive. somewhat in the same vain as sarah palin. enter paul ryan... he just may wind up more effective than alot of you would like to think. more importantly he's about to make an even bigger name for himself in 2016 should the need arise.

Obama has an edge over Romney when it comes to Independents at the moment (like 10% I believe), but the allure of picking Ryan is it brings the conversation away from things like Romney's tax returns and Bain. Don't ignore the fact that a lot of undecided voters don't really like Obama.

And exciting the Repub. base does a lot. I guarantee you, after tomorrow most of the talk you'll hear will be about energizing the GOP voter base.

I hope it finally does get press now. Especially everything that he wanted to do with Medicare. Would have people like :merchant:. Obama's been mentioning it, the whole voucher thing, but no one it seems is paying attention.

No, you have it backwards sir. This is going to alienate independents and even some Republicans when the average citizen learns all the details of the Ryan plan.

Regarding that "getting the base excited" stuff, that's always a bunch of overvalued bullshyt. Pretty much every Republican is going to vote for Romney just like pretty much every Democrat voted for Kerry. The base of each party is only about 30% of the electorate each, respectively.

The Ryan plan is radical as fukk...waaaay outside of the American mainstream. He wants to eliminate capital gains tax, the alternative minimum tax, and the estate tax, cut the corporate tax rate, privatize social security and and privatize medicare. :merchant: We'll see how "center-right" this country is when privatizing Medicare and social security goes on the table. The Ryan plan is so far to the right even some Republicans ran away from it when they campaigned.
