He never really had a majority in the House. Blue Dog democrats were useless in the Healthcare debates.

Yup. Obama never really had a supermajority. Max Baucus and Ben Nelson are basically Republicans. Max Baucus has taken $4 million in donations from the healthcare industry. Ben Nelson is like that two. Those guys live in red states and are owned by their corporate donors, and rely on them to get re-elected by their conservative constituencies. Mary Landreiu was like that too. And Joe Manchin. And Lieberman's punk ass.

It's funny how the same people who will tell you the Democrats are corporate whores and no different from Republicans are also the same people who will tell you Obama could've just rammed anything he wanted through in his first two years. He did bytch up on healthcare though. He never really intended to have a public option.

Obama supporters are going to prematurely celebrate though, I see it already in here. Ryan is going to get the Republican voter base excited. Him being so outspoken against Obama's budget kind of endeared him to them. And he could very well get a lot of the Independent votes for Romney.
