This doc has led to the wildest of takes from these sports talking heads, you can tell who wasn't there and who wasn't outside during MJ's run. WTF is Ramona talking about???

He's right tho... As a Jordan lover who hated Kobe at first (not gonna lie now, I'm from philly, we was mad lol)... Anyways, growing up, Jordan was protected. You didn't even hear about all his a$$hole ways until he retired. You barely heard about gambling unless you were older and in the know. But they definitely didn't talk about the shyt in the Coli Jordan being an a$$hole thread.

Meanwhile Kobe was happy to talk about the way he berated and hated on his teammates. It was the exact same shyt MJ was doing, but now the media was eating it up. He was out there clowning Shaq of all people. 3 FMVP and an MVP, and Kobe calling him out for not working hard. Demanding trades to get away from shytty teams. Talking up Mamba mentality.. Jordan was playing Mr. Nice Guy in public and trying to fukk your girl in the shadows.

I don't know if they said this on the doc, but Mike Greenburg spoke on that Pippen deal today.

He said the Bulls owner sat Pippen down himself and said "If you get hurt, I'll have to pay you every penny of this money. So if you sign this, don't come back to me later, talking about you want a new deal. It's not going to happen." THEN proceeded to tell him DO NOT SIGN IT.

Pippen signed it because he had a back injury that was so bad, people thought his career might be over. So to the Bulls, they paying him for 7 years without even knowing if he'd be back.. And they told him still don't sign it... And he still signed it..........

Y'all still paying him extra under those circumstances :patrice:

Ramona is a woman, and no, she isn't right. nikkas knew MJ was ruthless, The Jordan Rules book existed and it was a NY Times best seller in the early 90s. We knew how Jordan got down and for the masses it changed nothing, he was still the coolest dude on the planet. Her assertion is laughable and she even has her own ESPN coworkers mocking the comment on twitter. Also, to keep it 100 alot of folks hated Kobe's persona because they felt like he was just copying MJ.

I was just thinking. What would have been a worse outcome for this team historically? They don't break up after 6 and they keep the band together and the dynasty dies naturally. Let's say for example the next year they lose in the 1st Rd to the Knicks, and then after that was the Lakers 3peat and they never touch the finals again.

Or was it was worse that they broke up the team after 6 and they never got the chance to go for 7, which they had a great shot at it
Honestly with the way Jordan was playing on the wizards they would've got 7, but by the time Lakers come around in 2000 they'd either win that in 7 or lose in 6 and that's the last chip they contend for

A contract for four or more seasons can be renegotiated after the third anniversary of its signing, extension, or previous renegotiation (if the previous negotiation increased any season's salary by more than 4.5%). Contracts for fewer than four seasons cannot be renegotiated. A contract cannot be renegotiated between March 1 and June 30 of any year.

Only teams under the cap can renegotiate a contract, and the salary in the then-current season can be increased only to the extent that the team has room under the cap (and cannot increase the player's salary beyond the maximum salary). A renegotiation can only be used to provide a salary increase -- players can't take a "pay cut" in order to create more cap room for the team.

Business wise I understand why they wouldn't renegotiate the deal they technically weren't wrong, however it also is good to point out they didn't know Pippen would become what he became. That year Jordan Left Pippen was a top 2 if not top 1 player, If they wanted to do right by pippen sure renegotiate it in good faith. Would I have renegotiated with him. Yes I would have especially once I saw as an owner what was coming in the near future with the tv money and league revenue. Its better to keep people that work for you happy, you get more productivity that way; its true for pro sports and everyday 9-5's as well.

All that said Scottie ended up making around 20 million more than Jordan in career earnings.

I mean, the what ifs scenarios are wide open when you try to think what would've happened if MJ, Phil and Pippen stayed because that means Krause is out and a new GM had to get there and start making moves.

With 99 being such a short and weird season, it was kinda right there for a maniac like Jordan to thrive and lead the Bulls deep in the playoffs, Scottie probably works out and stays in shape to be his "Robin" once again too.

After 99' though, whoever the Bulls GM is has to make some big moves to net let MJ sefl destruct physically and put a team that can complement him AND get ready for the tough competition the West will have to offer.

Who coaches those Lakers though? And can that person make Shaq and Kobe co exist and beast like Phil did? :patrice:

They'd have to trade pippen and I think shaq was gonna win a chip that season no matter what, man was tired of losing in the wcf at that point he played like a freaking monster, Phil system is what nets them the 3 peat imo but Shaq mvp season that year was really his for the taking, specially with those blazers probably being different
