I thought this was supposed to focus on the last season? it doesn't at all
They're diving into the backstory of everything.

The reason the season was the way it was is due to Krause's turmoil with all the key guys. So you set that up with how Jordan's beef with Krause started and then show the subsequent success and how that made Krause insecure. That also ties into Jordan's competitiveness. Krause wanted to keep him on the shelf to tank but MJ wanted to go out there even for a hopeless season.

Then you got Pippen's trade demand and opting to get surgery during the season. So you dive into how he got hosed on the contracts. Poor family, leading to him blindly taking a crappy deal and being grossly underpaid while being Chicago's 2nd most important player for 5 championships.

Next episode is Rodman so they're definitely gonna go into the Bad Boys Rivalry and how that shaped Jordan & Pippen, and how it affected the team dynamic one Rodman joined.

And what does that have to do with me seeing him as selfish for that? :dahell:

Because he wasn't selfish he was all about business. He was looking out for the whole team at that time and he would have done the same, that fact alone can't make him selfish. He wouldn't have did it if he was in that situation. Now if he would have done the same and sat to get the surgery out of spite then talked bad about Pippen then you would have room to call him selfish

So MJ played golf with Danny Ainge in the middle of a playoff series :mjpls:

Krause attempted to tank by load managing a healed MJ in ‘86 :mjpls:

Reading a couple of books about MJ's early life got me looking at his pops a little differently, though.

Supposedly he molested one of MJ's sisters and his mom knew and did nothing about it, just called her "fast." I think MJ had only been asked about it a couple of times and ducked the question.
That sh1t is well-known.
I remember how uncomfortable MJ was when asked about it. He didn’t deny it, just ducked the question.
His sister was mad and started talking to the media.

He was selfish. Krause and company were about business too when it came to dealing with MJ. That doesn't make it right. But MJ not giving two craps that Scottie wasn't getting paid adequately and not understanding that he would put off surgery and demand a trade.? That's selfish.

Yall got all the excuses in the world for dude's selfishness. Even dusty ass Phil Jackson understood...and he was the coach making more than Scottie.

Someone mentioned a few pages back but they're actually not even finished editing it. Breaking it up buys them time.

Lol you act like Jordan was paid what he deserved his entire career. That's why he got those two 30 million contracts at the end of his career. Pippen got on the podium himself and said "I will get mine". He also defended taking the stupid contract by saying "I felt I needed the security". This ain't no different than a rapper getting yurked when they sign a contract. He signed it, and made a mistake he had to live with.

That was the basketball culture back then tho..

“big men win championships”

Oden over KD was some stupid shyt however
Thank god that saying died out...

If today was the 80’s, James Wiseman would be the consensus top pick.

Probably an episode about Phil Jackson too

Yeah, Pippen signed the contract he didn’t have the foresight. A good agent would have anticipated the cap expanding.

It’s no restructuring contracts in the NBA.

He has no leg to stand on it was what it was.

At least he had a popular signature Nike shoe and other endorsements and was able to cash out in Houston and Portland.
