they still gotta give Chad a proper send off and logically explain somehow why he's not coming back
I don't agree with them flat out not doing a sequel. This series was about to mean so much to so many. Black folks of all shaoes, sizes and ages.
Don't know how they'll go about it, but I'm not in favor flat out canceling the series.
Leticia Wright was incredible in the role of Shuri, but she does not have the build of a warrior, nor does this integration of the character have any fighting skill.
Killmonger was doing way too much to just come back and be Black Panther.
Surprised nobody mentioned M'baku honestly.
But ultimately, I would want T'challa to remain and see it as opportunity for another talented brother to move the series forward out of the darkness and sorrow that will inevitably envelop the first movie.
Unpopular opinion right now, I know, but just being honest.
Wouldn't envy that man at all though. Major MAJOR shoes to fill.
John Boyega would be perfect if he were older. Maybe Denzel's son. Marvel got a lot to figure out for sure.
Flashback scene - maybe he sacrificed himself for Wakanda, or crossed over to the ancestral plane as part of some sort of exchange, there are stories that could flesh it out ... even scenes with BP in costume so the character can be sent off properly
but i cosign ... its either Shuri taking on the role, or a redemption arc for Killmonger, a recast would be too soon
Rest In Power to the young legend
I agree but Michael B has to come back for it to work.
I actually think some of that was just his character being a try hard. The facade was gone when around his father and T'Challa. I agree he's not as strong of an actor like Boseman and wouldnt want that pressure on him tho. I guess agree to disagree on his performance in the film tho.(moved this quote to the BP thread since I don’t want to sidetrack the condolences thread)
No, he doesn’t. MJB is a big name, I get it, but his performance was dogged, he’s not a strong actor, I mean he was distractingly bad in BP at times.
Tenet will make Denzel’s son a full on household name, I’m not sure how much I like his acting yet, but he could be a possible replacement. I also think someone like Aldis Hodge is a good actor, the right stature yet could benefit greatly from a role like this in regards to elevating his profile.
Aldis definitely has the range, hidden figures, underground, what men want, black mirror all show him anywhere from serious to comedic to working within the confines of sci fi. Furthermore, these are comic book movies, you don’t have to be Oscar great and marvel likes to use people who aren’t full stars yet for negotiating power.I actually think some of that was just his character being a try hard. My post above ^ mentioned that the only actors that fit the range are Sterling K Brown and Yayha Abdul Mateen. Jonathan Majors will probably be the next great all around actor....if they go that route. I think Aldis is a talented actor, but I'm not sure he's there yet in terms of range either.
o want to root for him since he’s from the town, but his acting was so bad to me in aquaman and his episode of black mirror was too distracting for me to get a real read on him. I’d have to see him in another key role before I felt like he’d be a good pick up cuz like I said, him in aquaman was awfulYahya Abdul-Mateen would be perfect if he wasn't already with DC. I honestly hope they just recast him and let a black male hold the BP title for atleast 2 more solo movies. All the other male counterparts got 3 movies. Valkyrie and Storm are coming down the road. We need a strong black male figure.
I'm a fan of Aldis. He was one of the people I recommended for Killmonger. Jonathan Majors isnt a "star" yet either. Names I dropped are classically trained actors. Like Boseman, you can see the extra layers in their performance.Aldis definitely has the range, hidden figures, underground, what men want, black mirror all show him anywhere from serious to comedic to working within the confines of sci fi. some of y’all just throw the same stale names out there since those people are already stars, but there are other talented black actors
Yea, my comment was more to earlier comments where people were stuck on MJB or sterling.I'm a fan of Aldis. He was one of the people I recommended for Killmonger. With that said, you could very well be right that Aldis would do great if given a chance. So I dont want to knock the breh either.
