I remember when Paul Walker died and people said they should stop the franchise. It’s early now but too much money is on the table to walk
I’m not talking about the mantle. I’m talking about Marvel Studios literally recasting the character of T’Challa like they did Mark Ruffalo for the Hulk or Don Cheadle for Rhodey. I think the backlash would be so severe that it’s a nonstarter. The mantle can be held by more than one person. Multiple people can hold it. It’s a question of who can they cast at this point.
my guess is it would be a relative who was off screen in the movie. They could’ve been a teenager in infinity war and 7 years older after the snap. They would nail the casting tho.
Thats not a bad idea...He could have been a child of N'Jobu. N'Jobu had an affair with his mom years prior. There's some hard choices to be made. But some options. Shuri could be BP.
You could like I suggested bring back Killmonger, and build a redemption arc and make him BP. But I think Michael B. would pass and want to honor Chadwick's memory as BP.
You could also take Daniel Kaluuya's character (who is in prison) and build a redemption arc for him, and make him the new BP.
And then there's the recast, ala SPARTACUS. I know the recast in Spartacus was controversial with fans, but the new Spartacus grew on me overtime. But I think they stay away from that, and just bring in a NEW BP not recast.
It's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

As I said in other posts there are plenty of options for someone to carry on the mantle as BP. What I’m wondering is if they will attempt to use the technology to produce any T’Challa scenes (flashbacks, conversations, etc) that will help bridge the story and characters together. That could be seen as disrespectful as fukk. A lot of people had issues with what they did with Princess Leia after Carrie Fisher died.

Stephan James probably looks the closest to Chad if they recast.
This is very similar to Spartacus. The sad part is he truly didnt get a chance to be seasons vet KING T'Challa yet for a film. That was going to be the next one.
Idk brehs. I just dont know what they should do. Its crushing.
Either Stephan James....or maybe use the young T'Chaka actor.I don't think they'll recast T'Challa. But, I think Stephan James will be on the short list of actors to possible become the new Black Panther.
Na... they gotta keep it going
Unfortunately and as sad as it is..... look at them
Honestly...I'm legit mad they waited so long for a sequel. Cause we ALL wanted to Boseman get a chance to really shine in the role. I thought he did great in the role and understood the character choices because they were building it up.Yall saying it should definitely be Shuri didn't pay attention to the 1st movie.
It's ritual combat after being nominated by a tribe leader. Ramonda skipped over Shuri and asked Nakia... bc MCU Shuri isn't a warrior.
There is no easy way to continue. All they have in their favor is a 4-5 year gap they can use. Maybe T'Challa and Nakia got married and, upon his death, Nakia has the backing to take the mantle... or M'Baka takes it... or they show some Rocky montage of Shuri learning how to fight (ehh)...
Either way, I've lost interest. This was devastating on so many levels.
