If it goes by the Blade standard, Black Panther 2 might as well be called Intersectionality Panther because I assure you EVERYONE is about to be included or force themselves into the inevitable sequel :mjpls:

Tessa Thompson Open to 'Black Panther' Crossover

Tessa Thompson is keen to see a movie featuring characters from both Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther.

The actress has won praise for her portrayal of bounty hunter Valkyrie in the latest installment of the Thor franchise, and will also appear in future films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

However, Tessa has now revealed that she has set her sights on making a crossover film with the cast of the upcoming Black Panther, including Chadwick Boseman, who portrays the title character, and Michael B. Jordan, who plays supervillain Erik Killmonger.

“The worlds are colliding more and more,” she told Entertainment Tonight, noting that she also worked with Michael and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler on 2015 boxing movie Creed. “I think we’re constantly going to just pitch to Marvel how to get all of the characters in one movie and see what happens.”

N'Kano/Vibraxas played by John Boyega

it would have been cool if N'Kano/John Boyega had just a small cameo role in the first movie as one of the young warriors that declined to challenge T'challa at the first warriors fall fight in the beginning of the movie you know just a small cameo wink wink role to be expanded on in later movies

he could kinda be a T'challa/black panther fanboy potential miner sidekick type character and maybe a possible love interest for shuri

Yo :ohhh::ohhh:

This would be perfect actually.

One thing i noticed in BP 2 after my 3rd viewing :mjlol:was that Shuri didn't really have anyone her own age to interact with, there wasn't much room for that given how tightly woven the film was. So i'm thinking definitely in the next film they could introduce N'Kano and have him be a love interest! Especially if it's John Boyega!

The quips between the two would be FLAMES! And so would Chadwick and Boyega's interactions, esp with T'Challa playing the role of protective big brother to his sis, and knowing N'Kano is trying to shoot his shot with her.

Yo bruh:leon:

Tessa character ending up in wakanda isn't that big of a stretch when you think about seeing that Asgard was destroyed and she can't go back to Sakaar with The Grandmaster

ad to the fact she was a Valkyrie for countless of year's a noble, fearless, highly skilled, all female group of warriors and The Dora Milaje being a noble, fearless, highly skilled, all female group of warriors that it would make some since she would have interest in wakanda and for her to have a natural camaraderie with some of The Dora Milaje not saying she becomes one or anything but just kick it with them for a movie

and besides it would be straight fukking comedy seeing M'Baku getting a peep of that Asgardian strength& durability and being smitten wanting to marry & have their children be the strongest warriors in wakanda... and constantly spitting that Jabari Tribe game at her

Who Will Be the Villain of Black Panther 2?

M'Baku
winston-duke-black-panther.jpg

M’Baku enjoys an interesting character arc over the course of Black Panther, starting out as a jealous villain, and attempting to take the throne of Wakanda for himself, only to be defeated by T’Challa. But by the end of the film, he had transformed into a reluctant ally, and aided Black Panther in stopping Killmonger.

But he was so close to power. Surely all those years of detesting Wakanda and the royal family won’t have dissipated so quickly. After all, the Jabari tribe had exiled itself from the rest of the nation generations ago. Actor Winston Duke gave a wonderfully enigmatic performance as M’Baku, and he deserves more time to develop that character. However, because he played the role of an antagonist in the first film, it’s likely the writers will try take him in a fresh direction for a sequel. That makes M’Baku the least-likely candidate for primary villain.

Kiber the Cruel
kiber-the-cruel.jpg

Over the past few years we’ve seen Jack Kirby’s cosmic and exuberant flair come to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way (we’re looking at you, Thor: Ragnarok). So continuing with that, bringing the villainous scientist Kiber the Cruel into a Black Panther sequel could be interesting. The villain is actually bonded to the floor of his lab when his attempt to create a teleportation device goes horribly wrong.

At the end of Black Panther, Wakanda joins the United Nations and sets off on the path to sharing its Vibranium technology with the world. If Kiber experimented with Vibranium post-Black Panther, that could serve as the catalyst for his accident. But what makes him intriguing is that he can project an image of his former self to keep others at distance, and therefore unable to see his true form. He also steals the life forces of other people in order to achieve immortality.

Achebe
achebe.jpg

The introduction of Achebe could simultaneously could bring with him another “spiritual” aspect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Mephisto. Achebe sold his soul to the demon after a group of soldiers razed his farm and took his wife. His back story allows for another type of social commentary, about the gruesome consequences of war. Who’s to say the introduction to the world of Wakanda, with all of its advanced technology, doesn’t destabilize its neighbors, triggering a regional war?

Achebe is terrifying. In the comics, he infiltrates Wakanda’s government, and establishes himself in a high-ranking position. That’s when he begins to talk to a hand puppet, Daki. This imbalanced villain could provide some intense scenes that would have no rival in the MCU.

Kraven
kraven-the-hunter.jpg

Yes, introduce the classic Spider-Man enemy in a Black Panther movie first. For those who don’t know Sergei Kravinoff’s backstory, he’s a Russian hunter obsessed with tracking the best game in the world. Well, maybe he starts his hunt of animal-themed heroes with Black Panther after Wakanda reveals itself to the world?

Sony Pictures holds the film rights to Kraven as part of the Spider-Man library, but surely if the studio can strike a deal that allows Peter Parker to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of his classic foes should be easy enough. Plus, director Ryan Coogler already revealed he originally wanted to use Kraven in Black Panther.

I just want BP2 and anything else to stick close to Wakanda mythos. No avengers or other third party characters coming in. I love Wakanda in of itself.

Yup, it doesn't really need the others. They have enough interesting villains and support characters they can polish/revamp for the modern generation, that they're really self-sustaining. It's better to continue cultivating the mytho. Spider-man and Batman got to be as huge as they are with their supporting cast and villains bc they were allowed to be left alone and cook. And Wakanda has so many untapped dynamics from just the other 3 tribes alone that didn't get much appearance in the 1st film. Let alone the other villains, and not just Achebe

For example, we've spoke about Achebe but here's another one.

Baron Macabre
baron11.jpg

Baron Macabre received some sort of mutation after being exposed to the Resurrection Altar. He gained the ability to revive the dead and turn humans into zombie-like creatures. He stole some technology from Wakanda to help stabilize these powers. He then joined Killmonger and his allies to defeat the Black Panther. Black Panther was capable of knocking out Baron Macabre in one punch.

A character from the 70s that you can modernize however which way in the 2020s

Where Black Panther's Shuri Goes From Here In The MCU

2f2ef9337db5b4d30cfa9128363d5c8c6a85ca5f.jpg

People are certainly saying a lot when it comes to Black Panther: It's one of the best movies in the MCU; it has terrific world-building; Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) is one of the best MCU villains; and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) is just a genuinely cool dude. All of this is true, but another point that's been continuously surfacing is that people really like Shuri, T'Challa's sister and the genius behind all of Wakanda's technological advancements. Played by Letitia Wright, Shuri, with her constant one-liners and scene-stealing personality, is clearly leaving an impression on people to the point where we have to wonder exactly where her character goes from here.

Given the sheer size of the MCU and the nearly unlimited entertainment power of Disney, there's no shortage of options for Shuri to make frequent appearances. In terms of finding the best option, there probably isn't one, but I can sure think of a bunch of different ways that Marvel can utilize Shuri that would be pretty satisfying for viewers (and hopefully Letitia Wright). Shuri may not have three sequels and an Avengers films under her belt, but the character has plenty of potential for some interesting avenues to demonstrate what made her such a compelling character in the first place.

The first choice that most people will jump to is a spin-off movie with Shuri as the star. There's no doubt that Shuri has lead star potential. As the smartest person in the world, she has the "special attribute" requirement down pat and it would be incredibly interesting to see what technology she develops and what she uses it for. I could see a spin-off movie taking her out of Wakanda and to a different area of the globe to share resources and technology now that Wakanda is actively building bridges with the world. Maybe some bad guys try to misuse the tech and then the movie becomes about the good that technology can do, and the bad that results when it's mishandled. If that sounds a little similar to Iron Man, well, that brings me to my next point...

What if Shuri became the next Iron Man? CinemaBlend's own Dirk Libbey previously broke down how Shuri as Iron Man could work, so I won't dig too deep into it here, but the idea is that with Robert Downey Jr.'s future in the MCU unclear post-Avengers 4, Shuri would make a great candidate to take over the mantle. She's got the brains for it (more so than Tony Stark, in fact), and she builds Black Panther suits, which are way more advanced than the majority of the suits found in Iron Man's armory. Now that all of the Heart Shaped Herbs have been destroyed (for now), if Shuri wants to get into the superhero game, this may be the best way to do it. If she can't be Black Panther, then Iron Man is a decent second.

ac4109ad36ab1e86af5b785dd9dd26298994146f.jpg

However, that's not to say that Shuri can't become the Black Panther somewhere down the road. After the success of the movie, there's no way that Marvel is replacing Chadwick Boseman as the lead of the franchise until they've completely exhausted his contract. Once he's done, though, it makes sense that someone would take over the role and Shuri is the perfect candidate. In the comics, Shuri becomes Black Panther after her brother falls into a coma. She holds the title for a short time by herself before T'Challa regains consciousness, and then they both just kind of share the title until Shuri is killed later on. She didn't have the most memorable run (not that Marvel really let her), but it's notable that when she started out, she didn't have any of the typical Black Panther powers and she still managed to defend her country from threats. With the Heart Shaped Herb gone, the MCU could pull off a similar story.

It's likely too soon to give Shuri her own movie, so maybe having her continue her supporting role in Black Panther movies is the way to go. That's not very exciting though, so let's put a spin on it: Shuri should show up as support for other Marvel films. Part of the fun of the MCU is that it creates the opportunities for characters to pop up in each other's movies, creating interesting and clever pairings. We've seen this with Black Widow in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, so it's just finding the right movie for her to visit. My personal favorite choice: A Spider-Man movie. Peter Parker and Shuri are a similar age, with a shared interest in science. It's not so much of a stretch to think that with Wakanda now creating outreach centers, Peter's class could take a field trip to one where Shuri herself shows them around. I think it's a cool idea at least, and it provides the option of Spider-Man getting tricked out with sweet Wakandan tech.

All are fairly good options, but ultimately Marvel is the one who will be making the final decision. What's clear is that Shuri is a character that people want to see more of and she likely has a bright future ahead of her in the MCU. In the meantime, you don't have to wait much longer to see Shuri once again. She'll be appearing in some capacity in Avenger: Infinity War, which comes out May 4, 2018. Hopefully, she has that scene with Spider-Man that I'm asking for!

When Is The Soonest Black Panther 2 Could Happen?

852f0fa73872d089887473b30f66a747da4e65c9.jpg

Movies that make the kind of money that Black Panther is making get sequels. You don't even have to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- a realm carried by part twos and threes -- to ensure that financial success will launch a follow up movie. But it helps. So Black Panther 2 is practically a guarantee. The studio hasn't announced anything yet (in fact, word on Marvel's Phase 4 has been nonexistent), but we'd bet a Soul Stone that plans are underway behind the scenes for Black Panther 2. So, when might that movie hit theaters?

The earliest we'd guess that Black Panther 2 could be in theaters would be 2020. Production would have to ramp up almost immediately, and a 2020 release date would almost depend on Marvel locking up Ryan Coogler, and him having done SOME prep work on a sequel so they could begin soon. Because right now, the only film on the slate for 2020 at Marvel Studios is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and while James Gunn hasn't begin filming yet, he has done plenty of work on the story and the script.

If I had to put a date on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I'd say it's a May release, kicking off the summer season. Black Panther 2 -- if it released that year -- likely couldn't hit a February date. So a November slot seems more likely, as Marvel has released titles like Thor: Ragnarok, Doctor Strange and Thor: The Dark World during that month, to general wins.

The problem is, we just have no clue what the Marvel landscape will look like beyond Avengers 4, which everyone at the studio has gone on record to call the "culmination" of the MCU to that date. So we think of movies that are getting traditional sequels, but maybe that isn't the case? The studio has announced a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 5, 2019. And the third Guardians has a 2020 release date. I don't see Marvel only releasing one movie on 2020, but other characters like Doctor Strange could merit a sequel, pushing Black Panther 2 back.

Because films take a long time to write, shoot, edit and market, we know we won't see Black Panther 2 in theaters any time before 2020. If I had to bet, I'd pencil Black Panther 2 into a February 2021 slot. Because Marvel Studios, as a whole, likes consistency. They have found release windows that work for them. Audiences will follow Marvel wherever they drop a film, but keeping Black Panther 2 in the slot that broke records makes sense. It would also give Ryan Coogler (who I'm assuming comes back for the sequel, a la James Gunn or Peyton Reed) the proper amount of time to develop the next chapter in T'Challa's saga inside and out of Wakanda.
