But the black IP is the one that gets all lives mattered?

Reminds me of when Black Panther got first announced and Gina Rodiriguez immediately ran her dirty mouth on some “y’all are making a movie about black people but not us?”

A little of that lol but Namor and T'Challa's rivalry in the comics was legendary. Two actual kings going at it.

It will be a damn shame we won't get to see it. This time around.

Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye or whoever else is runoured to be the new black Panther vs Namor doesn't have the same ring.

it's better making the atlantians rooted in Mayan culture then some ancient underwater cacs. It is what it is. Namor and Atlantis had to be introduced at some point, why not ground it in real life ancient civilization/mythology (and away from Aquaman similarities) while appeasing to Mexicans as well. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Why do it in this movie and not a namor solo movie? Namor isn't well known in real life, you always have to explain him as Marvels version of Aquaman, and his beef with BP has comic book history. Also I'm sure coogler being from Cali had a part to play in it, black/brown beef/unity and all that

Antman, Eternals, Shang Chi, Capt. Marvel etc aren't/werent well known in real life. Still got their own flicks with no crossed streams. If people go see these movies just because....Marvel, then why does Black Panther have to be cross pollinated?

BP1 has gringo audience proxies too. First people in the first BP1 trailer were both outsiders to Wakanda and were both gringos.

To be fair Atlantians have a long rivalry with Wakanda and Namor and T’Challa are bitter enemies in the comics so it does make a bit sense to have them debut within the BP series but I am getting the sense that they are using this movie to prop up Namor and Atlantis while everyone else will be in the background and plus we won’t even have T’Challa in this which is a complete waste.

They should of just set the 2nd one during the blip (then they would have a valid excuse for T’Challa’s absence) with some other antagonist then for the 3rd movie recast T’Challa and then bring Namor in for that one.

You misunderstand. I'm not talking about villains or side characters like Caulson and Bilbo. I'm talking about a whole new character that's just a "larger than life" as the characters we're supposed to be following.

Yes, Black Widow was in Iron Man 2, but IM2 wasn't about Widow or the Red Room, Yelena and Red Guardian.

Thor had Hawkeye but not his family and farm. There were no scenes of Hawkeye teaching his kids how to aim and shoot while his wife rode a tractor.

Why does Black Panther's series have to be the two-fer? Will they do X-Men and F4 in the same film? No. So why do black people and the Latinos have to share a kitchen?
