They only changed Bruce Waynes and Peter Parkers when rebooting the franchise that isn't the case here.
And if you pull a T'Challa from an alternative universe he is then dead in the universe you pulled him from. lol

Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney played the same in universe Batman. :stopitslime:

OK I didn't realize that, it came off as wholly different movies not sequels. But even then do you think it went over well? Replacing Michael Keaton with Val Kilmer and replacing him with George Clooney? The movies and franchise got less relevant in each new iteration.

Nobody cared that they changed actors. People only talked about the quality of the movies themselves. Batman and Robin was a bad movie, that's what people trashed, and the nipple suit. The fact that a different actor was Bruce Wayne was an afterhought.

When there were talks of Ben Affleck not being Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill not being Clark Kent there was ZERO talk of someone else other than those characters taking up the mantle of the respective superheroes. It was a given they would just recast and keep it moving. But apparently anybody can be Black Panther because T'Challa is just the person wearing the suit at the time.

OK, nobody cared about those changes. Let's compare it to T'Challa/Black Panther.
Is there a sentiment held out there that T'Challa should not be recast or nah?
The situation isn't the same, sorry. :yeshrug:

It's weird to see black people accept that different people can be Batman, Spiderman, etc...because of course you have to have a Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker but they are ready to discard T'Challa like he isn't a character that needs to be around.

They already doing multiverse shyt, go pull a T'Challa from another universe.
I mostly see women saying it's okay. You know cause it will likely be a female leading the franchise now

They replaced Ed Norton with Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk in the current MCU after he starred in his own movie so there is precedent for recasting characters in this universe.

Ed Norton was not beloved and he didn't die. Chadwick dying just over 4 months ago is the difference.
The popularity of the actor in the role isn't the point you were making that I was refuting...I was just pointing out that in-universe recasting of the star of a movie has happened before in the MCU.
And not recasting for the immediate sequel is a reasonable thing for the studio to do; no one is arguing that.
Never recasting the role ever is the thing people are taking issue with.

:stopitslime: People like you are the reason we have to wait so long for the likes of Blade and T'Challa.

Edit; I misread your post and snapped.

My point stands, but, it doesn't seem to apply to you. :yeshrug:

Ya'll okay with the insult of original black characters not being enough.

There's literally tons of actual, interesting black characters in Marvel and DC. But, nah, make Elastic Man black.

If Marvel can make Ant-Man hot they can do that with any obscure black chracters.

I'm 100% against race swaps.

It's bad enough they are all created by white people and white people make the money off them...

Sidebar; Brian Michael Bendis created Miles Morales because he saw the Obama hype and would be able to license out the character once he got popular.

Yes, I white man, who was writing for Spider-Man, always makes money off Mile Morales because he played into our emotions.

...back to my main point. Marvel and DC shouldn't be able to profit off the backs of our pain in these modern times and look like heros for a half ass effort.

A year from now NOBODY will be talking about Black Batman because the same people were excited about Bat-Wing (African Batman, who then became Lucas Fox's son).

I'm ranting because over and over I see subpar talent be put on black character's books and people ignore it. But, if a white character becomes black in some fukking side story, it's national news (example Black Superman from an alternative universe).

i get your point, but besmirching antman isnt the way to go

as for miles, a lot of people didnt go for him until after the movie. it helped that he was written like shyt. but you dont give us enough credit.

I’m a little disappointed that our time with T’Challa has come to an end, but I understand, and respect the decision.
I hope we’re getting a new young, promising Wakandan warrior to take up the mantle, I have no problem with a Black woman stepping into the role, but we’ve only had one film with a Black male lead and I’d like to see that continue a bit longer.

I know people are expecting Shuri to take over, but I have no idea how this version of the character can pull that off convincingly.
