Tweet makes me wonder if the BP2 is going to take place after the snap when T'Challa is presumed dead. That way the film would be structured as a mourning of T'Challa in universe and the meta commentary would be about the mourning of Chadwick. Then plot wise they could tell the story of what happened in Wakanda during the 5 years where they had no Black Panther.

Then in a future film, like BP3 where Coogler may not be involved, it could take place after end game and possibly feature a recasted T'Challa.

It's a thought, though the counter is that Shuri was also gone after the snap, so the story would basically just consist of Okoye, Nakia, and M'Baku, in world we already know gets reversed, and that probably wouldn't be a worthy enough follow up to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

Thinking about this further, they never actually showed Shuri die. If I recall correctly, the only evidence we had on screen that she died was a video screen showing her "missing" along with the other snapped victims. Sure she came back through the portal with T'Challa, but not everyone that came through that portal was dead, see Okoye.

So I guess it's possible that they can retcon Shuri's story in the five year gap between Infinity War and End Game, and write that she went underground/off the grid to do black ops shyt with Nakia or whatever, but was around doing shyt, and wasn't a victim of the snap.

Until we hear otherwise, I think it's possible that BP 2 is set during the five year gap before T'Challa returns.

i get your point, but besmirching antman isnt the way to go

as for miles, a lot of people didnt go for him until after the movie. it helped that he was written like shyt. but you dont give us enough credit.

No Antman shade, didn't like the first movie, thought the second was dope. You could use the "excuse" of him not being "mainstream" popular enough for three solo movies and appearances in like four others.

If all people want are black characters, then, make a movie with;

I got back into comics maybe a month after Spiderman died and Miles came up--My Ultimate Spiderman may be worth some money, but, it's like a 2nd printing, I think--Miles biggest problem is; He's literally just black Peter Parker. I was done after they killed his mother--basically turned his dad to his "Aunt May."
I obvisiouly have ZERO problems with black characters. But, I'm sick of these companies trolling white boys and making all black characters affirmative action.

They replaced Ed Norton with Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk in the current MCU after he starred in his own movie so there is precedent for recasting characters in this universe.

If the Hulk movie would’ve made $1.3 billion, I think they would’ve held on to Norton.

i used to argue the very same point with others on another board about the crumbs they would throw black characters because creators wouldnt support black characters unless they had a popular title next to them. miles is a perfect example because he was simply added into ultimate petes life like a black puzzle piece except he wasnt interesting. theyve worked on that since bendis left, but that was still years of a boring milquetoast character in a spider outfit im supposed to care about because hes black. and the kicker is he STILL doesnt have his own identity. every other spider goes by a different alias but him.

so many young black characters across both companies get tossed to the bushes, which wouldnt be as much of a problem with they werent so rare. eli bradley is just fukking gone for no real reason, my girl empress will most likely never be seen again because dc doesnt know what to do with its continuity 9 times out of ten.

and jo is a good look. its like dc saw what was done with the black nova family and wanted their hand at something similar. but its dc, and shes not a bat, theyre gonna fumble the ball somehow

its one of those decisions about secret wars i dont understand. this book felt like a backdoor pilot for a new nova series in the main continuity. especially since they didnt exist before this, but nope

If DC had gone forward with that 5G stuff then Jo Mullein would've become THE Green Lantern in the DCU.

But since they scrapped it now she's just the main GL in The Justice League in the Future State event in January.

There’s still a chance that they will recast for BP 3. By then nearly everyone will be over Chadwick’s death and wouldn’t mind seeing someone else take the role of T’Challa.

make the movie about them looking for tchalla and introduce him in the armor at the end of the movie then have a new Tchalla for BP 3

I still never understood why the Russos snapped T'Challa and Shuri. Just is OD. Just like with Okoye you could say she's too busy with Wakanda stuff to help out. Plus the actress is in her mid twenties anyway. A 5 year gap would have been appropriate.
