Definitely.

There’s ZERO chance they would have time to rewrite the script and make it work to the point they would be ready to film in July. Meaning that they are most likely utilizing the script that Coogler already wrote, which of course would be T’Challa focused.

If thats the case then T’Challa being recast makes the most sense. And quiet as kept it ALWAYS did make the most sense.
true. it will be emotional initially, but it is for the best.

but for them to be filming in july, i would have to think they have already agreed with his replacement because they have to know his schedule is free...

If not recasting somehow bring back a killmonger who has to work with shuri to beat a common enemy like namor

Agreed.

I actually looked through John David Washington’s filmography on Wikipedia and he’s only got two films slated for next year and their both in Post Production so if that’s anything to go on he should be free.

Stephan James has only one film slated for 2021 and its in Post as well. So he should be free as well

That wouldn’t make any sense.

Kilmonger MURDERED Dora Milaje. There’s no way they’d work with him for any reason
No offense but do you read the comics ? Do you know what namor does to wakanda? He does waaaay worse things .and if the rumored storyline of that being how
T’Challa is killed by Atlantis flooding or attacking wakanda
And again it’s a common comic book trope of villain working with hero for common enemy such as Loki and Thor . I

I honestly don't know what the right play is. Boseman's replacement would have huge shoes to fill on top of the default backlash it will get (fair or not). I think that's still a better shot than putting the mantle on Shuri already, especially since they'd have to write T'Challa out of the film somehow (and no way would that not be handled clumsily). Probably the best way to handle it is to redefine the character a bit. Treat it like Bond actors changing and with it the way the character is presented. I think the post-Endgame time frame gives them enough leeway to put T'Challa in a different position than he was in the first film, and thus allowing a new actor to play him differently too.

Yes I read the comics. Namor flooded Wakanda and T’Challa fukked him up for it. The only reason he even considered working alongside him again was for the chance of resetting the world utilizing the Infinity Gauntlet and restoring Wakanda to what it had been Pre-flood.

There’s almost zero chance BP2 will feature a UNIVERSE SPANDING threat of the type seen in Secret Wars to make T’Challa team up with Kilmonger. The Dora Milaje alone would revolt.

To be fair I’m not saying that Kilmonger can’t come back (He does so several times in the comics) but I feel if he were it would always be in sole sort of adversarial manner. He WOULD NOT replace T’Challa

I honestly think they should recast but they have to make shuri or nakia a black panther in this film to soften the blow
just have two black panthers now
