Shuri as BP makes no sense to me. She is a totally different character in the movies than she is in the comics. Why didnt she try to become BP or regain the throne when they thought tchalla died in the first movie? Her own mother didnt think to give the herb to her and she didnt even hint at taking it.
Lastly tchalla is Black Panther yea she had a brief period where she took over but tchalla has been been black panther since the beginning 99% of the time. You cant have black panther for extended period of time without tchalla. She can be BP latter down the line with a character adjustment or as he ages and no longer wants to or can be BP. Which there is a comic on that.
Recast will be emotional and tough at first but we will eventually move on(with the character not Boseman's passing).
I got emotional a while back trying to explain how selfish it is to be to keep Marvel from possibly recasting on Chadwick's behalf...like he didn't understand that BP as a project was bigger than him, look at how he handled himself during his illness. He didn't seem like the type of person to want people to campaign for the death of T'challa (after just coming back to life I mind you) just because he can't play him.
On a smaller scale of course, this is an Andy Witfield situation when he passed from cancer before they could finish the following season of Spartacus. He was perfect in his role, nobody WANTED to see him recast of course but he set the tone for TV greatness and it would be a dishonor to him and the fans to just let it come to a halt. Cuz who they recast did his thing, made the role his own but was never really seen as a replacement, the character had changed story wise and he held his own chapters of the story down without ever imitating Andy or underwhelming the audience.
I feel like continuing T'challa's story is the best way to honor Chadwick's legacy.
