I know. and this ulitmately your and people like Sunzoo primary argument. You want it recast because it's your personal preference.
I get that.
But i think they should do the right thing , the respectful thing instead right now. Instead of catering to your preferences.
You do realize it’s your own preferences/opinion that moving to a new character is more respectful. Other people see continuing the character the Boseman brought to screen as more respectful. They are both personal opinions, there is no objective right or wrong here

Because the cultural significance of a black male hero was bigger than the storyline itself.

black panther was significant for giving black boys a hero as well as building a world of black excellence that black people of all ages and genders could be proud of. Yes, Boseman played tchalla well, but he wasn’t bigger than what the entirety of black panther brought to the screen - that’s why he wanted to be part of it.
So basically this about Shuri being a woman? Because they have to replace the actor regardless, and writing him out of continuity honorably and replacing him another, or just recasting him and continuing like nothing happen with still maintain the significance of having the hero either way.
Both ways will be a new actor and new take on the character. The end result is exactly the same. So we've finally figure out the root issue here. Ya'll are really just saying forget chadwick because you don't want a female black panther.

No one is saying any of that...people are saying tchalla doesn’t have to die because Boseman did - point blank. Superman and Batman’s been played by how many actors, but somehow black panther can’t be?

They have rarely replace actors without rebooting the whole series. I'm on record saying that i'm fine with rebooting and then recasting.
But chadwicks version of black panther should remain his. Recasts within the same continuity always rubbed me the wrong way even when the actor was still alive anyways. Just makes the older movies seem more outdated and fanfictiony, instead of being part of the canon. I look at Ed Norton Hulk and the current Hulk as two completely different takes. rather have a story reason written to explain it then act like it didn't happen.

In any case i don't know why ya'll are still arguing with me about it. Disney has apparently sided with me. Black Panther will live on, but won't be recasted.

He had the same serious laid back demeanor as T'Challa, plus they best friends.
i mean in the sense i can probably buy literally anyone beating the shyt out of him. might work for Ant-man, don't think that works for Black Panther.

Has Disney said they are gonna make a new Black Panther? I think that's the way they should go. But I haven't seen a definite statement made yet.

there will probably be a new black panther but not a new T’Challa.

coogler and boseman were friends. I doubt he would replace the character since he’s the one writing the movie.

Coogler will have to do whatever Feige/Disney tell him to do if he wants to stay on the project. It would be profoundly easier for production if they recast because Coogler already has the script and story laid out with T'Challa in mind.

We all love Chadwick, but feelings aside, the character is bigger than just one person and if they scrap it then we will never see T'Challa on the big screen again unless Disney decided for some reason to reboot the entire thing and we know that will not happen.

lol breh these folks are weirdos, Chadwick himself more than likely would want the character to live on.

Yeah but they didn’t recast Joker. I personally would feel weird watching another person play T’Challa.

sucks that Chadwick never got to play a "fun" T'Challa. that character was a stiff. now that all the family/secret Wakanda shyt was out of the way, T'Challa will probably be a much cooler, more laid back character in future movies.
