North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It is that simple.

What the fukk does the bold even mean? How is a billion dollar, Oscar award winning franchise polarizing??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??????

What the franchise is, is way too successful and culturally significant to cut it short or take a sharp left turn to somehow 'honor' the man that put his own pain and health issues aside to make it magical. It was bigger than him THEN and it is still bigger than him now.

Breh. It would be like replacing RDJ or Chris Evans after The Avengers was released. Or Fast and Furious replacing Paul Walker

This aint the DECU :mjpls:

The movie was polarizing in that it was too widespread, too significant. He was in 3 of the top 5 highest grossing movies of all time :dahell:

You think they gonna just replace the character with another actor. Even if they wanted to, they would be smart enough to know that wouldn't go over well.

Replacing Boseman would also be in bad taste. Nolan had plans to work with Ledger again as the Joker, but scrapped the them after he passed.

They can accept Chadwick Boseman passed and honor his death and recast Tchalla at the same time.
How? with a RIP message at the end credits after spending 2 hours pretending nothing ever happened? I don't see the honor in that. more like lip service. would feel disrespectful actually.

How is recasting honoring his death :mindblown:

By allowing the Tchalla character to live on. We don't know what Chad's wishes would be in this case, maybe he let Fiege/Marvel know but I'd have a hard time believing he would want the character to be killed off. How would recasting the role serve as a method of dishonoring Chad? Again Chad passed away not Tchalla.

Making Shuri BP or even Nakia would be more of a disservice IMO and would cause some continuity issues with the story and I assume interrupt future plans Marvel had for BP. I think BP makes more of an impact if Tchalla lives on. They just have to nail the recast

There's a lot of fake news about what "BP fans" want. I just want some counter-programming to clear up those lies. Or to at least ensure both perspectives are out there, no matter what the end result ultimately is.

Thank you for your consideration,

We get to keep Chadwick :mjcry:

S-E-L-F-I-S-H.

This is what it's really about. fukk the fact that Chadwick himself knew how important Black Panther (the cultural phenomenon) was and how it was bigger than him. To the point that he gritted his teeth through unbearable pain, on and off screen to make sure that that it came to fruition for so many different groups of people, especially black folk.

To cancel the series or derail it with some nonsensical scenario that has T'Challa coming back to life after being dead for 5 years, only to die and 'pass the mantle' to a character that has more in common with RiRi Williams than she does with her own source material is selfish and way more disrespectful than continuing what Chadwick started.

Let's be reality, we know we can't speak for those who aren't here...but given his disposition, his heart, his intelligence, integrity and self awareness, do you honestly think the man in question would co-sign this fakkit ass fan 'campaign' to pay respects to him by letting what he set in motion come to a halt because he couldn't finish the journey?

This.

No one wants to recast, but it's the only thing that makes sense. The Character means so much to so many people, and T'Challa means so much to the MCU at this point in time.

Chadwick would not want this role taken with him to the grave, Shuri at this point in her arc makes no sense, Killmonger makes no sense in this universe, plus he's dead. Killing T'Challa off screen is sloppy and low key dishonors Black Panther, but I think is way more disrespectful to Chadwick, because it doesn't even give the character a proper end. Are they going to CGI Chadwick's likeness in or worse just not show him at all...it'd be awkward as hell.

It sucks, it really does because Chadwick bodied the role, but I firmly believe he would be ok with the recasting. You just have to cast someone who will honor the role and move it forward.

So you admit your argument is pure shyt and based on trolling. Pretending you don't know why there is a criticism of folks trying to shoehorn characters:hhh:

All in the other threads you babbling how you hate the MCU is "passing mantles" and need to "reboot" but on some reverse stuff in this thread.

He's an immature child that goes around negging ppl who disagrees with his opinion :mjlol:

Having a different take on a recast is fine but I don't bother reading his posts bc they're shyt and marinated in buffoonery.

Some of you are being ridiculous if you think Disney is going to pack the Black Panther character away and never use him again.

BP 2 wasn't even scheduled to start filming until March of next year so they will probably put the brakes on that and push it out another year or 2 depending on COVID but when they do announce a new production schedule it will likely be around the same time they announce the new actor they have cast in the role of T'Challa.

Welp. Looks like no Aldis.

Was warming up to the idea of him replacing T'Challa.

It's annoying that in 2020 we still doing race-bent character castings for the known black actors, when there's still notable black superheroes still collecting dust on the shelf.

Mr Terrific, John Stewart, Icon, Blue Marvel, Dr Voodoo, Cloak, Nigh Thrasher..
