Exactly, I don't know why people even bring this up. Trae was never a Day 1 player and Doncic was always a Day 1 player. For crying out loud, he has been a pro going on his 6th season. Two years ago, Trae was playing AAU ball and HS ball. We draft off of potential. That's why D. Fox went ahead of D. Mitchell.
:mjlol:

Here comes all the excuses

But but but he is a project

Potential? Luka is 5 months younger, has half a foot of height on him, and neither are athletic. There isn’t a single thing on the floor that Trae can do that Luka can’t. I like Trae but it’s a huge L breh. If the Hawks were drafting someone else based off of potential they would have taken Jaren Jackson Jr.

They already got Collins, they don't need lane cloggers, they need playmakers

No, we’re not playing this game. A generational talent in the vein of Lebron James has MORE than enough talent on this Mavs team to make the playoffs in the down West this year. Don’t hedge your bets.

The same casuals in here who compare Trae Young to Steph Curry every game all of a sudden want to run from the Lebron standard, even though he’s compared to him daily.

Is it oochie Wally Wally or is it One Mic?
I’ve never compared Doncic to lebron in my life. They play nothing alike

They wanna do everything to move the goal post for Doncic. When they assumed they got a top 5 pick from the trade before the season, now it's "the Mavs have a good team" and Doncic better be able to lead them to the playoffs

He has been a fukking pro since for as long as KAT and D'Angelo Russell. They aren't in the same experience class. One still has the AAU mindset adjusting to the NBA. The other has not just been a pro, but a pro at one of the world's best clubs in Real Madrid with good facilities. You cannot compared that to anything that anyone in this draft has as experience. His age is less meaningful for that reason. I been watching all of Dallas games. I don't think he has the type of potential his fans are claiming. I am saying he is more Melo potentially than Bron. His ceiling just isn't what they are claiming. That doesn't mean he isn't special because he is, but so is Donovan Mitchell and we haven't seen his progress this year

He is on a good team. That's not a lie. That's in the data. He is of course a major part of the reason they are good but let's not act like this is NY without Porzigins, Cleveland or Atlanta. They are ready to compete and win in Dallas which is why they are in the playoff hunt.

This isn't the same team as last year. They improved two positions they had issues and benched Dirk. This isn't cut and dry like Atlanta that lost Dennis and depth or Cleveland which lost LeBron. This team gained. Why are you guys being so hard headed about it?

I don't call Euros that as everyone is different and he isn't a Mario Hezonja. He was the best player in Europe. He was beyond NBA ready, he is ready to play at a high level ASAP

Don’t draft the next KG/AD/Duncan because of John Collins, brehs.

You had Schroeder btw.

Who didn't want to stay in Atlanta

We got a top 5 pick anyway, we combine that with the luka pick, we possibly get Zion, what is better than that?

If luka can't get you to the playoffs, then its a better pick for the hawks, we don't give a shyt, that is y'all problem, as long as y'all don't fall to bottom 5(lottery withstanding), that is our pick

His experience is an advantage, yes, but he can still refine his game by improving everything including his body/conditioning and increasing his usage.

A ceiling of a playmaking Melo is basically Larry Bird btw...
