So a team of healthy Barnes, Matthews and Jordan in the West will be consider playoff material? His team wasn’t nearly as good or experienced as this Mavs team. West is wide open, there’s zero excuses

Post a link to "most analytics" please, I really need to see these. Watching the games he's definitely taken a huge step back from what he once wasMost analytics consider him to be the best defensive center this year.
This... Going by the eye test it looks like he doesn’t jump to contest drives and let’s his man drive on him too often. He takes up space and deters by just being a big body and secures defensive rebounds.Post a link to "most analytics" please, I really need to see these. And you'd be right on all accounts - he only contests six 2-point shots a game (avg 31 minutes). To put that into perspective:This... And keep two first round picks in this years draftTrade Doncic for Trae young brehs
No, we’re not playing this game. A generational talent in the vein of Lebron James has MORE than enough talent on this Mavs team to make the playoffs in the down West this year. Don’t hedge your bets.“Experience” is such a moot point when it’s coming from Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes. This mavs team is really not very good and no one should expect them to make the playoffs in the west
Exactly, I don't know why people even bring this up. Trae was never a Day 1 player and Doncic was always a Day 1 player. For crying out loud, he has been a pro going on his 6th season. Two years ago, Trae was playing AAU ball and HS ball. We draft off of potential. That's why D. Fox went ahead of D. Mitchell. And keep two first round picks in this years draft

We don't know where that pick is. It could be a hit, it could be hit. We wouldn't know that fast. It’s gonna be like the 11th pick in a bad draft. Maybe you’ll get a future rotation player out of it
And you'd be right on all accounts - he only contests six 2-point shots a game (avg 31 minutes). To put that into perspective:
Gobert contests 13 per game
B.Lopez contests 12.8 per game
Jarrett Allen contests 12.8 per game
KAT contests 11.9 per game
LMA contests 11 per game
McGee contests 11 per game (in considerably fewer minutes)
Capela contests 10.8 per game
Basically, he's only contesting half the amount of 2-pt shots as the league-leaders. And that's not even taking into account his low contest rate on 3s either (he contests 1/3 of the amount of 3-pt shots as the league-leading big men: 1.1 per game) - he literally contests 3-pt shots at a worse rate than every single big man. Essentially the only form of defense he's been playing this season is crashing the glass.
