Only thing I hope does NOT happen is the “White woman is the friend of the Negro” trope. That shyt INFURIATES me that they always try to portray white women as less savage and racist than white men. I hope they’re trying to pull an okie doke with that bullshyt.
Of all the supernatural shyt this would still be the most outlandish part :mjtf:

Oh lord, I hope we’re not in for a season of people bytching every episode because the story/show isn’t doing what they want it to do when they want it to do it. I’ll have to peace out on this thread if it goes that route. :snoop:

Show is dope, there’s nothing like it on television, and I’m enjoying the ride thus far. :krs:
You know the drill :mjlol:

People gonna complain about what happened week to week because it's not what they thought would happen then criticize the conclusion because it doesn't line up with any of the ideas they formed that weren't happening the whole time. It's thecoli way

I was tellin someone in here that if she wanted to save them she could have. She was complicit in all that.

She was. But that conversation about being a woman and him being allowed into the Cult simply because he was a man should have NEVER happened.

Also they made her wayyyyy more sympathetic than a white woman under those circumstances would’ve been. She should have naturally been repulsed at the mere sight of them. All that “Not all white people hate you” dialogue was bullshyt too.

But its a tv show, still a very GOOD one based on these two episodes so i’ma let it rock

Lots of telling instead of showing, no kind of build up of tension, pacing way too fast, explaining things that should be more fleshed out, cheap deaths, contemporary music overload/inappropriate use of music...they're going to fukk up the potential they have for this show with shytty writing. Seems like a never ending theme with HBO right now. Can someone explain to me why the fukk they're playing Whitey's on the Moon during the most important scene of the series so far? Got damn man whoever was in charge of music and sound for this show really fukked things up with just how mismatch scenes are with musical choices. The music drowns out a lot of the tension and emotion.

I dont have context for whitey on the moon as a creative piece. But it seemed to me that in this particular scene, it was as if black ppl are suffering and are beasts of burden, whilst white ppl are off on frivolous adventures. That space race was plastered everywhere on every newspaper cover and tv headline for years, meanwhile black ppl probably didnt give two shyts because they had rent to pay and children to feed under an oppresive regime.

During 69 when black ppl were still struggling to make rent and fighting for civil rights white men were literally walking on the moon a seemingly impossible task almost as impossible as going back to the Garden of Eden.

Everything about this episode was a severe step down .

The tension that was felt in the first episode was non existent in the second episode

The James Baldwin speech in the first episode was hard hitting and fit right along with the scenes it was playing over,Whitey on the moon just felt like a group of ppl throwing any random piece of black literature on screen to fill a quota

The pacing ? There isn’t any pacing .

the random ass rock music :hhh:

Uncle George death was a waste. Might as well killed him off the first episode

I’ll stay engaged off the strength of the first episode but this was Empire levels of nonsense .Felt like a bad episode of True Blood.
