to be honest i still have kobe as the third best laker.

i have Kareem at number 1 (kobe is never passing him in accolades rings, or accomplishments)
6-time NBA champion vs Kobe's lil 5
6-time NBA Most Valuable Player vs kobe's lil 1
2-time scoring champion tied with Kobe
19-time NBA All-Star vs kobes lil 16
2-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player tied with Kobe

  • 15-time All-NBA selection: tied with kobe
NBA Rookie of the Year (Kobe couldn't get this?:heh: mike miller got one of these:mjlol:
Three-time NCAA champion (Kobe chose to ride the bench instead)
all time leading scorer (Kobe all time leading misser :mjlol:)
Magic at number 2 (he got five rings too but 3 finals mvps, picture magic losing out to shaq :mjlol:)

Then Kobe at number 3

the mistake you make is that Kareem didn't accomplish ALL of that on the Lakers. he played part of his career with the Bucks. thats why almost everyone has Magic ahead of him in the Lakers greats rankings. Magic did it all on the Lakers and he carried Kareem for most of the 80s when Kareem became old. so eventhough Kareem got 5 rings with the Lakers like Magic, most of those were with Magic leading the crew and old ass Kareem just being along for the ride.

Ironically you quoted the most truthful part.

No way in hell Kobe is a top 5 player all time.

He is a top 5 perimeter player all time, top 10 all time and as of now a better than LeBron (just in case you think I'm some LBJ fan with an agenda here).

Quoted this since you're the only Kobe fan with a brain here

That's because, As Phil Jackson has stated, Jordan was stronger, with broader shoulders and as a result he was able to back defenders deeper into the post than Kobe, hence the more efficient scoring.

Stop giving Kobe credit for taking a greater amount of lower percentage shots (the three pointer) than Jordan - it's reflective of his lower Bball IQ.

the 3pt shot is only a lower percentage shot compared to a long 2. remember the extra point you get for 3s. that why 4/10 from 3-point land is more effective than 5/10 from 2-point land.

get out of the caves breh and welcome to the modern nba. the 3-point shot is no longer considered a "low percentage" shot. entire teams have now constructed their offenses on shooting as many 3s as possible. see the Houston Rockets.

Apples and oranges bruh, Kobe isn't taking the type of 3 point shots you're talking about and you know it.

Kobe isn't standing on the on the 3 point line waiting for the ball to touch the hands of 2 or 3 teammates, before launching a 3 off a caught pass. He makes tough shots but takes a lot of ill-advised ones.

I'm all for taking a smart three-point shot within the flow of offensive ball movement, but that's not what I was discussing in regards to Kobe.

And these were the top three point shooting teams last year:

1. Atlanta
2. Golden State
3.Lakers
4.Houston
5.Phoenix
6.New York

All world beaters :mjpls:

..... 3 ball is today's league no doubt, but a mixture of both inside and outside is what gives you the best chance to win an NBA Championship, that hasn't changed.

Breh, just look at Kobe's INDIVIDUAL accolades and accomplishments (forget his TEAM accomplishments, and 5 rings, Finals MVPs. Just straight HIM as a player, not his team accomplishments)....and show me 5 players that have a > individual career.

32,262 career points (31 points away from 3rd all-time)
16x All-Star (and counting...currently 2nd all-time)
15x All-NBA Team (and counting....currently tied for 1st all-time)
12x All-Defense Team (and counting...currently 2nd all-time)
4x NBA Leader in total points scored (and counting)
1x NBA League MVP (and counting)

Show me 5 players that have a better individual career than Kobe.

Not including Jordan

Kareem - 6x NBA Champ, 2x Finals MVP (should have been 3 for the '80 finals), 38.387 career points (1st), 19x All-Star (1st), 6x MVP (1st), 15x All-NBA Team (Tied with Kobe for 1st), Highest recorded WS in a single season (71-72), #1 in WS All-Time, #3 in playoff WS All-Time (Behind Jordan and Duncan)

Not gonna do a break down for all of them but 5 more

Russell, Bird, Magic, Shaq, and Duncan

Not to forget all these guys had a significantly better prime/peak aside from Russell

You're using their team accomplishments in place of just using their own individual accomplishments as a player when you bring up rings and finals.

There aren't 5 players that exist who have a better resume than Kobe as an individual player.

Bird? Magic? Shaq? Nah breh...no way.

Player vs Player, Kobe's career is > their's

Jordan, KAJ are at the top, but 3 others don't exist

http://www.slamonline.com/nba/jerry-west-considers-kobe-bryant-the-greatest-laker-ever/

‘What he has accomplished with this team, I don’t think there’s any question in my mind at this point in time – because of him being with this team for his whole career – that he has been the greatest Laker player,’ West – who earned 14 All-Star berths, one championship, one MVP and made nine Finals appearances – said. ‘I do think he’s the greatest Laker player we’ve ever seen.

people don't want to accept it, but he has had the best career as a laker
