South Side Chicago to Nola
I watched about 30 minutes before I turned it off. From what I saw it seemed pretty good tho, but I just didn't feel like being angry today. I'll finish it at another time.:ehh:

i feel you, i want to fight after watching it

Watched it last night.. really good overall. Some really good performances in this. I will say that Kaluuya attempt on Chicago-Mississippi drawl/cadence was hard to understand at times -damn near needed subtitles in certain spots. But him, Stanfield, Dominque Fishback, and Plemons were excellent at the end of the day. I wanted to see Lil Rel Howery's character get more screen time and fleshed out more. He would've added a lot more depth to the plot instead of the usual evil white characters to rely on as antagonist. Also not sure if they used the word "nicca" as frequently back then as they do now- some of the dialog/talk seemed off. But this is fire no doubt! Amazing cinematography, soundtrack, and scoring! HBO/Warner did it with this one

that song just resonated with me, the accent did get hard to understand, but that was Fred he had a thick talking voice, but it felt like it was brought to life through his voice, i agree with the other poster who said it would have been nice to get more of lil rell, and like @portcityplaya said show the smugness of Bill, and show how he was really on board to do what he did, but then again he may have had second thoughts, he did kill himself, but that nikka was smug af til his death

I thought this was a really good movie with some strong performances.

I was heated at various points throughout and especially at the end when they showed the real dude smug as fukk :stopitslime:

One of my favorite scenes was the speech Fred gave after he was freed:wow:

this is HBO Max’s first hit, 1/3

I ain’t from Chicago and that accent was so bad, I wouldn’t even consider it an accent. shyt was mostly unintelligible.

I enjoyed it, especially the scenes uniting the Rainbow Coalition. I know it’s Hollywood but my one complaint is I wish they would have included more substance in Hampton’s speeches about socialism and the proletariat (I agree with the Vulture review in this regard).

this was good, kept my attention throughout:ehh:
it is missing a 60s soul soundtrack though:jbhmm:
Yep. Score was inconsistent and could have used some some 60s soul. That shyt did so much for Dead Presidents imo.

Even if it was something like this :ohlawd:
When Fred gets locked up

Good film but I should’ve turned off after the final act. I couldn’t get Breonna Taylor out of mind during that scene
:mjcry:

Anyways Kaluuya was great imo. Stanfield really isn’t that great. His acting seems so force and unnatural to me.
