I finally saw this brehs. just :wow: :wow: Joaquin was fukking incredible... My friend asked me who I thought was better, Heath or Joaquin and I couldn't answer, the fact that I couldn't answer is a true testament to both of their acting abilities. But they played the character very differently and the joker that we saw was very different from the Nolan film. Joker was in his prime like '93 Jordan in The Dark Knight. We saw the mere birth of The Joker. This film is very similar to Scorcese's King of Comedy which was a great nod by casting Deniro as the talk show host. Just really really loved the film. Joaquin's performance had a lot more sadness in it than Heath's pure chaos/insanity. Fantastic, inspired film-making. This is what superhero or anti-hero films should aspire to be.

do you think "in real life" a person who just confessed to a triple homicide on national TV would be allowed to sit up there and continue interviewing?
This is Gotham we're talking about. Back in the 80s where technology and security is nowhere as good as now.
i mean, he's supposed to be a comedian on a late night comedy show, it would be natural for people to think he was joking at first.

I don't know how you do a Joker sequel.

Feel like the organic method is do something with a young Bruce Wayne solo film. Then, maybe do a Joker sequel. Then finish it off with crossover film.
idk how you handle the age difference between bruce and joker if they want to do a sequel w/batman

i think the entire point of doing a film like Joker with an A LIST critically acclaimed Screen actor was the no restrictions in term sof making it a typical superhero costume wearing actionfest..
this was a movie on its own entity, a sequel would be cool but may not be so effective like we had in this character study.

It’s so incredible how

Since we’ve established that Joker is not a reliable narrator we honestly can’t trust anything we’ve see and now we specifically got to watch it a second and third time to piece together the truth.
That was the genius of the movie.

I didn’t notice him hitting the flower when I saw it in theaters, I thought he was just clutching his ribs :ohhh:

Arthur did alot of imagining and fantasizing in the movie... they could somehow use that to fix the age disparity...

And I was thinking the same thing about how could they possibly make a sequel, bridging the superhero batman stuff to this type if Joker character...

U would just have to make it more like a "Watchmen" type movie... digg deeper into the dark side of batman...
And then it should work

Edit: People are saying that this Joker isnt the real Joker, the one that becomes batman's nemesis.
He is just the one that inspires that Joker.
This seems true from the way the movie ended

When he tries to be funny he isn't but when he doesn't he is unintentional comedy. The cinema was :mjlol: when he walked into that glass:deadmanny:

Nah that scene in the children's hospital stole the show :deadmanny:

Those 2 scenes and the scene with the midget and the door lock...

Just those 3 funny moments alone, added so much to the movie because it gave an awkward feeling to the theater as the movie was getting more intense

From an editing and direction perspective, I wish they didn't beat you over the head by the flashbacks to show you that.

Her saying, "Your name is Arthur, right?" was enough.

:sadcam:

I had a really small issue with that too...
I mean like really small... but I understand why they did this kinda...

Most ppl aren't avid film watchers... especially superhero movie watchers... imo...

For those who watch character studys, psych thrillers... we kinda already knew what was up early on with Zazie's placement in the movie... and we're already keen to the tell tale signs.

The flashbacks was done for the other movie go-ers to be like :ohhh: "wowww, dammm"

To the others who knew, it was like :stopitslime: "overkill "

Great movie tho
