Why? The world in joker isnt as fantastic as in the comics, it's more grounded in reality and we already saw that movie in nolan's trilogy.

The more I think about it the more I like. This was a great film period not just a great comic book movie. This movie got depth and layers that will make you appreciate it with additional viewings. I imagine people going in expecting what they see MCU and DCEU will be disappointed, but oh well
Damn, after watching the flick last night I came home ready to pop in my Dark Knight Blu-Ray, but couldn’t find it.

Great movie. My only criticism is that it shows only half of the jokers origin and that left me a bit unsatisfied. It's needs a part 2. We see him transform from mentally disturbed to full blown physcopath but what we didn't see was his transformation into underground criminal mastermind. Would have been nice to see him plan some crime and carry it out at the end instead of just impulse killings.

Fantastic film. 9/10. I'm not even comic book fan like you guys, as a film it's a great film. A non-comic book fan will admire this film for what it is, a work of art.
This man deserves the Oscar. Anybody else good this year or up to par? Not for a moment in the film did I even look at my phone to see how much time left in the film. I never for a moment thought I was looking at Joaquin Phoenix. Felt sympathetic to him, as anyone else should.

That scene with the midget tryna get out killed me. He kissed him on his head and told him to scidaddle

Exactlythey been saying the Joker and the upcoming Batman movie are set in separate universe for a hot minute. Plus Joker would be in his mid 50s early 60s if they did

I like how he laughs uncontrollably in uncomfortable situations. As he embraces his true, insane self more he laughs less.

But even bad people can be empathized and there's an abundance of evidence to show why he is who he is. He wasn't dealt a hand of cards the average person is. Children shouldn't have an upbringing like that.
