"Michele' was just the Sicilian/Italian way his name was said...nothing more.

Sonny/Connie I believe were nicknames I think Connie had a longer name.
Sonny obviously is Santino.

His name is Michael....the Sicilian s /the priest who I think was speaking either Latin or Italian just say it to where it sounds similiar to Miguel.

It's like Tommasino said when he talked to Michael right before that:
"These young punks don't respect anything anymore" around there...

Fab was just a young punk who didn't give a chit about Mike, watching him was just a job. So when he got a good offer to flip on Mike he was down. But since he was a stupid young punk who did it halfway, he wasn't watching Apollonia get in the car.

In contrast, Calo (the other guard) stayed down with Tommasino for life...if I remember correctly, he's the old man who whacked Lucchesi (pause) in his office with the glasses in Part 3.
