No it isn't...that is just what some book readers want to think so they can have some bizarre feeling of superiority because they know what is coming.
The most important aspect of this show is being entertaining and maintaining the spirit of GRRM's books.
straight up bullshyt :camby: im glad nobody in here is buying this shyt your spewing right now, i still have no idea how you can't see the parallels between what you're saying about Oberyn and what nikkas were sayin about Ned when the series started :snoop: it's literally the exact same thing

I'm glad people liked the ep but that Oberyn shyt was probably the most :beli: moment on the show for me so far. Aside from that I thought it was a great ep.

An unimportant but interesting/fun detail that I just was reminded of reading reddit

When Sansa is talking to the lords of the vale, she tells Bronze Yohn Royce "I met you at Winterfell, you were escorting your son Waymar to the Wall"

Waymar Royce is the Nights Watchman that had his head chopped off by the White Walker in the first scene of season 1

Not really...Ned dying is a far more widespread narrative point then Oberyn's death. Keeping Ned alive is untenable and would change the entire story from top to bottom. Keeping Oberyn alive wouldn't be that big of a deal. I bet if we ran a poll the majority would be in favor of his not being killed off too.
Now you made your opinion known and I have made mine...it aint that serious bruh for you to keep harping on it.
My God I forgot how much I hate the attitudes of the majority of the Game of Thrones book reading contingent. Acting like this shyt is the fukking Quran or something. That is why I stopped posting in the book thread. You dudes are annoying as fukk.

Brehs I dont understand something. Once Le Mountain sweeps him off his feet why didnt dude roll the OTHER WAY. If you watch the gif Oblock rolls toward Mountain and that's when he gets popped and put on a R.I.P tshirt, relatively speaking of course. I cant help but wonder why he didnt just roll away. Not like the mountain could get up and run after him

Because the Mountain sweeping you off ya feet is like getting knocked down by a hurricane force wind? He is a big motherfukker.

I thought about that to, with how acrobatic and fluid he was with his motions you would think he would still have had a chance to get away

He doesn't roll, the Mountain grabs him by the neck and picks him up with one arm. Watch again

:dwillhuh:

Thats like watching "The Rains of Castemere" and saying great episode except for the Red Wedding

I don't get it breh, what was :beli: about it?

The over the top goofy violence? This show has many other examples of that, its the style of the show

Oberyn dying? Thats the viewers fault for getting attached to a character, nobody is safe (Rickon excluded)

That you saw the ending coming a mile away? Well yeah, that was the point and how it was framed. Everything leading up to the fight foreshadowed Oberyn losing. But we can't detach our brains from our hearts and we all thought he would pull it out despite fitting every stereotype of the hero that dies. Out bloodlust for Lannister deaths clouded our judgement

I'm curious why you disliked it, I personally think it is a GOAT-level TV moment on par with anything else this series has offered
