I'm through book 4 (A Feast for Crows). Theon's story arch is beyond where I've read so far, and Dany's story arch will be ahead of where I am in a few episodes. Everything else is still end of book 3/early book 4. There's still an entire dynamic of Martell/Greyjoys that the show hasn't covered yet. I'd say there's a good 1-2 seasons before the show catches up. But then again, Winds of Winter should be out by next year
