Tyrion told Dany to go to Casterly Rock because that is where Cersei's armies would be but Jaime took them to Highgarden instead which is where Olenna was defenseless. Yet another example of Tyrion being a shytty advisor to Daenerys.
Olenna went out like a boss though.

The 2 year gap fukked things up. For some reason in thought this happened season 6.

nah, olenna said something about that being the last key to the tyrells when loras got hemmed up...and of course all 4 are dead now, so they gone

yea, i dont need them in the story, but i've seen the family trees, they used to be huge then just died off with the current gen. dude could've made them bigger. like there should be some stark first cousins out there somewhere, or sam's dad aint got a brother? we don't need to see or have them named, but it's weird how every single house was hanging on by like 4-5 people
in the books there are more tyrells

the reason why Dany is rushing to get this shyt sewn up is because Snow is the rightful heir. She knows that nobody in the north is fukking with her and she knows that if these people ever find out that Jon is the rightful heir her days in Westeros are OVER. She will never claim the throne if the word gets out.

So many people in here are saying the plan is dumb. It's not dumb, it's rushed. It's rushed because Dany needs it to be rushed and there are people who could have advised her better but Snow shut all that down in the war room meeting because he was trying to show his loyalty to her.

Sansa questioned her. Everyone is tired. We need to rest. Jon said "nope" because he don't want to sit on the throne. It's best for him if Dany is on the throne, he don't want to be king.. this isn't new.

People wanna act like all these characters went against their previous motivations. Where did they go against their motivations? I'm tagging you @O.Red because you were most vocal against what I've said.. so explain to me what I got wrong :manny:

I think he just meant Stannis, who was the rightful heir to Robert.
Even if so, with Stannis dead Gendry is the only rightful heir left
Ned also met the baby in the brothel. But that's besides the point. Ned surely wasn't intending to legitimize Gendry, a boy he met just once. He intended to lay claim to Stannis as the rightful heir. I know this cuz he states this explicitly to Renly.

Furthermore, Varys wouldn't need that letter for anything. If he's going to go down the "rightful heir to Robert Baratheon" road, Gendry's the only person left. Roberts brothers and their kids (well just the one) are all dead. The fake kids with Cersei are all dead. Gendry's his only living heir legitimized or not.

All that aside, Varys has seen nothing to make him want to support Gendry as a ruler. I don't even know why I'm in engaging in this nonsense, carry on breh. :mjlol:
If nikkas would've told you a few weeks ago that green eyes, blue eyes shyt meant Arya would kill Night King you would've had the same reaction, stay sleep though. King Gendry's rise to the throne will be poetic. A true rags to riches story :banderas:

Cersei should have killed Dany on the spot but you don’t kill your opponent of war during negotiation meetings, those are the rules of engagement. I don’t see why Cersei would follow it but maybe she thought the North, Dorne, Iron Islands would retaliate and sack the city.

The way Cersei finessed her opponents this season, it's hard not to like her. Keeping the gate open for innocent civilians to protect the city is genius. Dany can't do shyt now.

I don't think they changed their mind, I think they rushed through the Night King subplot.

Put it like this, GRRM doesn't have a "Night King" in the same way that the show has. There are white walkers and an impending threat of some sort but it is all very vague in the books..

Meanwhile I don't believe GRRM ever intended on the major characters dying in a new version of the Long Night. GRRM had discussions/conferences with them and told them what the main ending point is..

I agree it's been rushed and I don't understand why it is being rushed but the idea that the white walkers were going to end up being the final point of the series, I doubt it.

GRRM was always going to end this with some sort of fight over the iron throne.
