Did you see the interview with Martin where he states they met at his home over the course of several days and he gave the writers his ending point? It's been posted in here many times now.. The writers rushed through a bunch of shyt but Martin stated the end is the end.

Why are many of you completely disregarding that point? If the end was supposed to be The Long Night then it would have been. Obviously the end is about who sits on the throne.

I didn't say they ain't rushing shyt, you are still going on about how the end was supposed to be the white walkers. Martin said it isn't. He doesn't even have a Night King.

Varys hasn't been in King's Landing since Cersei took the throne tho, I don't see how this is relevant.

Huh? He had to bounce from KL to not get killed. He went to go back Dany and advise her during her power up, now he’s about to make the call for Jon. There’s nothing he could’ve done in KL solo, without ensuring the next reign was setup/there to take over and without earning his position in said new reign.

Varys doesnt need to be in KL in order to remove Cersei. In fact, He’s been making plays across the narrow sea for over a decade while in service to Westerosi lords. He can’t do the same while he was with Dany? He has a whole network of assasins and spies. Plus he already has a successor in mind who Illyrio and himself had been grooming.

The way Cersei finessed her opponents this season, it's hard not to like her. Keeping the gate open for innocent civilians to protect the city is genius. Dany can't do shyt now.

Why are you telling me all of this? I said they rushed the shyt. But did they abandon it? That's a different point. You are arguing that the end is supposed to be Winter. That ain't how Martin was gonna end this.

On the Jon point, he was brought back to lead an alliance against the forces from Beyond the Wall. He was brought back because he is the rightful heir. That is still in play.

the reason why Dany is rushing to get this shyt sewn up is because Snow is the rightful heir. She knows that nobody in the north is fukking with her and she knows that if these people ever find out that Jon is the rightful heir her days in Westeros are OVER. She will never claim the throne if the word gets out.

So many people in here are saying the plan is dumb. It's not dumb, it's rushed. It's rushed because Dany needs it to be rushed and there are people who could have advised her better but Snow shut all that down in the war room meeting because he was trying to show his loyalty to her.

Sansa questioned her. Everyone is tired. We need to rest. Jon said "nope" because he don't want to sit on the throne. It's best for him if Dany is on the throne, he don't want to be king.. this isn't new.

People wanna act like all these characters went against their previous motivations. Where did they go against their motivations? I'm tagging you @O.Red because you were most vocal against what I've said.. so explain to me what I got wrong

The plab is dumb because the writers completely reversed themselves. Her advisors are shytting on Dany for wanting to kill thousands to take the throne.... except they put Dany in this sutation. Sansa been trying to trip Dany up for no reason. She need to strike Cersei now, before she gets even stronger.

Think about it... dany landed in Westerosn with the biggest army.... Dorathki, Unsullied... 3 dragons.

Her HQ is at Dragonstone, 45 minutes away from Kings Landing. She could've flown to Red Keep herself and killed Cersei and the Mountain. Cersei had no warning, no army, no allies, no Golden Company, no Iron Bank support. She toast them and shes done

Instead she has made 2 roundtrips to the North when her goal could've been accomplished in 1 day.

Then Varys and Tyrion horrible advice causes her to lose giant chunks of her army and support to Euron and Jaime

That's why this whole Throne talk is BS. She shouldve been on the Throne already . Now her advisors trying to kill her off for following their own advice... smh

I just dont understand how Bran is so underutilized ... instead of pretending like hes not here, they could have just had a scene where he explains that he cant interfere with matters of the throne, or SOMETHING

the idea that he wouldnt warg into crows to scout is just so lazy

I think the writers dont want to give the protagonists too much of an advantage so I can see how it puts them in a bind. But they might as well just kill him ofc if he doesnt provide anything more of value

When the Sopranos crew took a 2 year break they came back with the excellent final 9 episodes. I was hoping that's what we were in for. So far this has to go down as the second or third worst season. These writers are either grossly incompetent or they just don't give a fukk.

They cut away from Jon revealing his true parentage to the Starks

They cut that scene and gave us that stupid ass Bronn scene

We got a Jaime/Brienne scene but not Sansa finding out Jon is the true King

They took Brienne and turned her into a crying little b!tch because she got dikked down twice

They fukking cut out Sansa and Arya finding out Jon is not, was never, their brother. They cut out Arya and Sansa finding out Ned Stark was honourable beyond even their imagination

These writers ain't shyt

Jon left Ghost with a headnod

Euron hid his whole fleet behind a valley and the dragons didn't see him

Dany has VARYS MASTER OF WHISPERERS in her camp but has no idea what Cersei's army is up to

Dany marched up to Kings Landing with less men than Rza shouted out on WuTang Clan ain't nothing to fukk with matter fact there was a bigger posse in that video

This was entertaining but fukk this was poor writing so far this season has been BEYOND THE WALL status only, no glimpses of S1-3 at all.

Didn't you just skip past the part where Jon is the king of the north and asked for her assistance against the white walkers? She chose to help Jon because A) the threat was legitimate and rapidly approaching and B) she saw how they loved Jon in the north and she felt that if she helped his ass the north would bend the knee..

You are saying she should have taken care of Cersei but she had reason to do the other shyt first.

wasn't Dany (and Viserys) who he sent to Illyrio? That was his whole move, get her and her brother to safety and kept them stashed so they could return as the rightful king/queen. After she gained enough power in Essos, and upon shyt hitting the fan in KL, he bounced to go clique up with her. He's been trying to set her up for the takeover, not sure what else you expect him to be doing...especially when Qyburn took over his spy network in KL.

The writing has been god awful

They could've just made the meeting place a bit more neutral in terms of the danger both of them are in. Dany has Ballistas archers and whatever artillery pointed and her and a dragon that would need nothing short of ultra instinct to get out of the situation alive. Cersei's biggest danger was Missandei taking her along for a suicide dive.
