Khan doesn't need to anything more than win one fight and look good doing it. This 2-3 fights stuff is nonsense. Boxing is a "what have you done for me lately?" business and Khan shining in a win against someone who isn't a bum would immediately put him back into the Floyd Sweepstakes.

I agree. I might have over did it with the 2-3 fights.. One fight should be good enough if Khan wins impressively. I was only thinking 2-3 because I can see Floyd going after Cotto next with the fight being at the Barclay Center and Khan being after a Cotto rematch. Khan can't just fight one fight alone and then wait that whole time like he did now and get screwed again. He would have to stay active and be impressive. That was my logic behind what I said.

True, but I look at it in Mayweather mastered how to be effective while moving forward. What he wasn't going to do was let Canelo dictate the action and get in rhythm. His defensive style vs Cotto would have been disastrous vs Canelo. Also, I think Mayweather cautiously decides what punches he throws to protect his hands. Versus Guerrero he realized it was easy money after the first couple of rounds and let his right hand go at will, knowing that even if he hurt it Guerrero couldn't beat him. Against Canelo, Mayweather had plenty of opportunities to land significant power shots, but I think he knowingly didn't throw them to protect his hands. Mayweather admitted that Canelo's punches landing to the sides of his arms hurt...if Mayweather hurt his hand midway through the fight, Mayweather isn't big enough to keep Canelo off of him and would have been running. Instead he chose effective aggressiveness - moving Canelo around the ring, landing clean shots, not throwing aggressive power shots, and played defense to not take power shots to any part of his body.
My opinion of what happened.

This is why it makes next to no sense to watch Floyd on film. He changes everything every fight, then when the right lead starts landing, it's all over.

Yeah, I noticed a few posters said this and I don't know why.

i mentioned it in a scenario case..for example if cotto beats sergio...cotto is the lineal middleweight champ..possibly enticing floyd into a rematch that he wants..floyd gets a shot at becoming the man in another division from somebody he's already beaten..and its a dollars makes sense type of fight..the kind floyd likes to chase and cotto isnt bound by a network or promoter

thats the only way cotto-floyd 2 would make sense

This won't be a easy fight for Floyd for the reason, Maidana is gonna keep constant pressure and try to smother him, Floyd can't fight him like he fought Hatton and De la Hoya because a ugly fight favors Madaina and we know how these Judges be coming. Floyd is gonna have to keep his hands going the whole fight, and those hands been giving
Him trouble, you see him taking off rounds on the low to rest them.....But Floyd is getting better I love when he starts the fight off walking a mofo down right there he be mentally crushing them, only thing stopping this from being a easy fight is his hands

Hatton had the speed to initially close the distance between and he and Floyd while Oscar had a great jab while having the benefit of having 1 inch of extra reach and punching downward. Maidana has neither the footspeed nor the reach (3 inches shorter than Floyd) to make this really competitive. Hatton gave up his body to get to Floyd. Maidana is going to have to sell out to get close and he will get fukked up for his troubles.

For this same exact reason, Sergio Martinez should be next in line if he wins. That's a dream fight for boxing fans, even more so if Sergio looks good against Cotto. Only 3 fights I'd like to see involving Floyd are Martinez, Garcia and Pacquiao (:comeon:)

If Floyd does to Maidana what I think he's going to do, Swift won't be seeing Floyd in the ring because his daddy won't let him.

You have to take in account him crying and telling fight info before Floyd wanted him to. FLOYD knows fighting him is a financial privilege, and I personally feel its a wrap for a fight with him considering whoever he fights will also have something to prove and the people they are saying he might fight he won't be knocking out, like Broner. He's done in Floyd sweepstakes in my opinion. ..
