cool episode; so wanda, monica and fake vision vs white vision, quick silver and agnes next episode.

if wanda never took the body was hayward just bein a dikkhead for the sake of plot with his real goal to power up new vision?

obviously the fake vision will merge with his white self and come back to life...them kids gonna die though since things created in the hex can't survive out of it (cue vision being dragged back inside).
how this ends needs to be pretty tight-nit especially for the branching of movies that come from it, but we've always been fed by Feige so why doubt them now

Hayward was lying but his lie really makes no sense just because of who he is telling the lie to.
If one of the Avengers showed up asking questions I could see him going through the hassle of faking videos and saying Wanda stormed SWORD HQ and stole Vision's body but he told the lie to people who basically worked for him and couldn't do shyt about him wanting to rebuild Vision as a weapon if they wanted to.

He's right, she and quicksilver been retconned as mutants breh.

I will say that this ep didn't completely close the door on it happening, they kinda tiptoed around it, but it's setting up to be her retconned origin they created for her when they didn't have the X-Men rights.

They could still make her mutant since in the comics (before they retconned her into not being a mutant) Wanda's mutant ability was to control chaos magic.

I liked this episode. It gave us Agatha's origin and just what her goal has been all this time; took us on a tour of Wanda's grief and trauma; established Hayward as the true villain of the series and got me to geek out at the referential image of the ghostly white Vision from John Byrne's West Coast Avengers run.

I was less enthused by all the weight they put on the Scarlet Witch moniker mostly because I hated the retcon in the solo Scarlet Witch book by James Robinson (I actually thought the whole series was trash) and thought it made Wanda less interesting to have her be one in a line of "Scarlet Witches"...the less taken from that series the better as far as I'm concerned.

I do think its time folks give it up with all the theorizing and placing importance on everything from bugs on drapes to Evan Peters showing up as Quicksilver.
This show ain't that deep, its pretty much all surface level...entertaining as hell but still pretty much what you see is what you get.

So let them dreams of Reed Richards, Fox X-Men characters and Mephisto go.

Every show is surface level after you know what's going on. Don't do that.

agnes came out and said it straight but some people here are missing it. agnes even suggested that wanda stopped the bomb using a probability hex to shift the probability of the bomb going off to very very low.

I interpreted it differently. It seemed to me like they didn't wanna commit to either origin so they made it intentionally vague whether or not she had powers before she was exposed.

That's the same reason they didn't discuss whether or not Pietro had powers prior to experimentation IMO. I don't think they have decided yet. But all the pieces of the puzzle are there for them to go the more recent, revamped version of her origin.

Someone somewhere turbo charged Wanda's powers.

In the hydra flashback we saw a figure in the mind gem glow (looked like Scarlett Witch) thus narratively separating Wanda from the "Scarlett Witch". (Like Jean Grey vs. Phoenix entity)

Feige probably wants to leave open some way to rehabilitate the character and she [can] only go so evil until there is no coming back from it.

Plus the book in the basement glowing with magic (from somewhere).

Plus in the flashback they implied Harkness was using magic from a very dangerous hidden-hand source - (i have more to say about this later). That same source killed the other witches. Look at the scene again. Agnes was surprised when the purple magic started to fight back against the coven.

One other thing is "coven". in the flashback the witches spoke as if covens were the norm. anges never said that there are only two of them in the present.

One other other thing in general is that Agnes never actually did anything evil so do not assume that she is the "villain". If anything she seems to think Wanda is the danger hinting that she has room to develop into a Loki type.

Oh okay, yeah we were on the same page with that. I was specifically calling out @R=G

I don't know if we'll get high evolutionary or not in GOTG3 since that was only a rumor iI read but if we do then they may go that route to explain her origin some more. And maybe that glow was her mom who was the scarlet witch before her. But hey I don't know anything, you do so.

I want to see The High Evolutionary just to see the scene where Wanda finds out she and Pietro were delivered by Bova.

I think it can be interpreted that wanda herself would have died, or her powers would have died. Intentionally vague wording.

I think they are leaving the door open for the time being.

Hayward was trying to paint Wanda as the "bad guy". Why do that? Why attack?

One thing that achieved was to get a sample of Wanda's direct "energy" to use to wake up his "vision".
Also he wants everyone to be behind the attack (no negotiation) tactics that he wants to employ. In other words he needs to external people (Darcy, Monica, Randall, the other specialists) to get on board.

He has some other aim because he still plans to attack.

Yeah, like I said, they tiptoed around it. It basically tells me we won't find out which origin they are running with until later. Or maybe not at all. Which is why I was mad

show is kinda turning into a troll job... and it's not even really the show's fault, there's just been so much "you're not gonna believe this" hype. i'll admit, i get a lot of it from interenet speculation* and discussion, but hearing the undoubtedly blown out of proportions quotes from the cast - Luke Skywalker cameo, Bettany talking about how respected the cameo is** Monica's scientist friend, etc, has made these past few feel disappointing.

*they've nailed every small scale thing they've speculated, with absolutely none of the big stuff.
