I think there is an MCU multiverse but I don't think the MCU will dwell on the legacy parts of that multiverse (x-men, ff - fox worlds) other than tacitly acknowledging that they exist / existed. I don't expect to see drawn out narratives in the "fox" reality. I do think that the multiverse will be shown to exist with alternative characters - see what they are doing with spiderman for example. loki, kang, ant-man, spiderman, dr. strange are alternative universe narratives. cap lives in another universe and hist story will be coming back to the MCU.

I think the MCU is going to pull a Casino Royale. Daniel Craig was a rebooted James Bond, yet they kept Judi Dench as M from the Pierce Brosnan movies. If anything, they'll keep who the fans liked. If the Fox Quicksilver isn't a big bad, then this would be Feige taking an element from that franchise that was generally well received. And after today's episode, he pulled off the a$$holeness of comic book Quicksilver perfectly. He's also a better actor than Aaron Taylor Johnson.
