Let's be honest here: the only reason why Dexter has been able to operate as Miami's premiere serial killer for so long is because his coworkers are terrible at their jobs. Dexter routinely gets away with destroying evidence, hacking into police databases to find crooks and setting up elaborate kill rooms around town, all under the oblivious noses of his dimwitted coworkers.

Honestly, who in Miami Metro warrants a spinoff? Batista, who somehow made it to captain despite the fact that he got caught with a hooker, beat up a fellow officer and completely ignored the suspicions LaGuerta -- who he was once married to, let's not forget -- brought up about Dexter? Quinn, whose sole purpose is to scowl and sleep with whatever female character needs a storyline? The new uptight lady cop whose name we can't be bothered to Google because the writers could clearly care less about developing her character? That said, we would totally watch the heck out of 'Masuka Nights,' a spinoff that exists solely in our mind where the randy forensic specialist moves to Daytona Beach to solve crimes and ogle Spring Break hotties.These are the dumbest cops in history.

man it's kinda hard to argue with such sound logic. that being said, I still enjoy this show thoroughly. I am able to suspend a lot of belief. especially the last 2 seasons.

btw, the most competant cops on the force are all dead in laguerta, mike anderson, and doakes. and deb is his sister, so she's under his thumb as well.

You have a point , think I'm crazy nope she got a job as a blood splatter assistant without any training or school whatsoever . She did not give a resume because what would it have on it? She worked in a stripclub, Angel the Sargent just let a civilian walk through his door and say I'm on the team , don't bother checking my résumé , Vince says it all good, no interview nothing. Remember the people who had that job before? Louis who was rich but very intelligent, so smart he erased evidence from the police evidence room on the bay harbor butcher that till this day is the biggest case in Miami history . So could his daughter be the killer of course, she majored during the day as a surgeon / blood splatter and forensic detective.

Jamie and Quinn move into together....cue the next scene and we see them eating dinner, everything is setup, tv/ furniture/kitchen all that quick. Plus Dex is like "Take my kid, whatever"

Then we got the previews for next week and Deb is back on the force. So she goes from being a strung out junkie and now since talking to Vogel, she's clean, got her job back like it aint nothing.

At this point, the finale will have Dex getting killed by a car. Then we hear Harry talking bout "Dex, what did I tell you about looking both ways before crossing the street"

They would think its normal for a guy to wear gloves at night and drive around looking for criminals suspected in murder cases who happen to vanish after he meets them. Deb was a junkie less than a month ago who drove her brother and her off a bridge trying to kill him, now she clearly sane enough to join the force again after admitting I killed Laquerta in a drunken stupor . I mean I wish the was like this, go to a job I like tell them what position I want and what I want to get paid , take no test or even interview for and just like that I'm hired. Matthews and Angel should both be under investigation , Matthews killed a hooker and Laquerta covered it up to get her job back. Yet she goes after Dex for doing similar crimes.

Like I pointed out earlier this season, the writing is extremely lazy in favor of convenience. It's convenient for them to dismiss things on a whim.

If Steve Wynn (owns casinos like Hannahs dude did) went missing it would be HUGE news. The Feds would be involved, there would be a power struggle over the estate and the casinos. It would rock the economy of Vegas and tourism in general. Yet everyone is either oblivious or careless.

Zach's dad is a millionaire and I bet it never comes up that he went missing.

They just toss characters and storylines to the side when they're ready to and introduce and reintroduce characters like a dog owner dropping a chew toy in front of a puppy. There's not even anything at stake for the characters that are left. I don't care if Zach died, or Vogel dies. The characters that are left from previous seasons should have been dead or dealt with seasons ago.

Usually by now, with any good Dexter season, it felt like the walls were closing in and anything could happen. Anyone could find out, the feds could pounce on him, someone could find out, anyone could die. Now it just feels like Dexter is invincible and immune to punishment. And it's not a cool "Dexter is invincible and immune to punishment" because the writers made us feel this way, yet Dexter could still be in trouble or go down at any second. That would be cool. The way that they've gone about making Dexter invincible and immune to punishment is by dumbing down every single character and aspect of this TV show to where he is operating on a very animalistic young-adult level and everyone else is fukking 10 years old.

Dude is richer than Jay-Z. You're telling me if Jay-Z went missing everyone would be like "Oh that sucks. Heard he got lost in Miami somewhere. shyt happens."

To be fair EVERYBODY on that show has something weird about them, look at all of the horrible side stories of the background characters... they know not to throw stones at Dexter when they got issues themselves.
