The prison was run by the same guy that they were pursuing. It's likely no one there was innocent. The only prisoner we know anything about is Red Guardian. We know that he was partially involved in the program until he outlived his usefulness. We also know he was a willing participant who wasn't remorseful until long after he got out. Maybe they didn't deserve to die, but as collateral damage for the greater mission of saving innocent girls that had been taken and turned into weapons, not to mention the ones that would be taken in the future, it's a necessary evil.

You are in this very thread justifying shooting children that didn't do anything wrong because of how they came into existence. That wouldn't have even gotten them closer to solving the problem, it would have only made things worse by pissing off Wanda. How are you complaining about hurting innocent people?

All of that sounds like a rationalization for shooting kids. They didn't know or understand what was going on, they were just defending their family and home. Regardless their existence depends on Wanda, if he had successfully shot them she could kill everyone there and bring them back.

Wanda was wrong but the agent escalated the situation to fulfill his main objection of creating a new Vision under his control. She was too powerful to beat with violence so diplomacy should have been the first action taken but he was too shoot first.

Shooting at two minion spawns of an evil slave master in a direct attempt to free the tortured slaves is not comparable to slaughtering hundreds of prisoners and prison guards to free someone who might have helpful information....emphasis on might, of course, because he didnt have the information they were looking for.

If those hundreds of prisoners and gaurds were working directly for the red room you might have a point. And that point would be that the villain of one MCU property is equal to the hero of another.

He didn't have the information but he led them to a contact that had the information. Someone they wouldn't have known to look for because they thought she was dead. They would have been stuck without him.

To your first point: the fact that they lucked into different useful information is called a plot contrivance....not justification for mass murder.

It's a story, everything that happens is in service to the plot. If he had the information himself it would still be a circumstance in service to the plot. Ultimately the result is he helped them stop child trafficking and slavery. That is the result of them breaking him out and everything they had to do to get him out.

In the interested of putting this to bed....if I were to grant you that Wanda's magical creations are to be considered real sentient beings and that, in the midst of battle, Heyward should have ignored that they were using their superpowers to protect an evil slave master because they took the physical form of children....if I grant you all that, then at best you would agree that Nat & Yelena are equal to Heyward with regard to their villainy.
