Just gotta hope Martin Freeman pulls off the role well without making him annoying. Like you said if its hit or miss then it takes you out of the movie for a sec. Think Jar Jar. Freeman usually is able to pull off characters like this so I'm hoping he skillfully makes it work.
I get ya, but lets be real. Coogler wouldn't have him in the movie if it was up to him. See how he killed off the Paulie character in his Creed movie.
In Coogler We trust though.

Yo dat marvel poster is flames where can I cop
Just read BP #14. Pretty good overall, imho.
-T'Challa was well portrayed in this issue.
-T'Challa was, for the second time in a row, the primary focus of this issue. Perhaps it will be the norm throughout this season.
-Potential love interest introduced?
-Convo with the previous BPs went well.
-A character from the Hudlin/Mayberry run returns.
-Doctor Fautus and Stane scheme.
Only complaint I have is the art. It's not bad but it wasn't as consistent as it needed to be.
Looking forward to the next issue.
