Yeah, those did negatively effect him. See 2018 election and impeachment.

The difference right now is the number and rapidity of the problems. He’s in the same position as LBJ was where eventually the public believes he has lost control.

His approval rating has been dropping steadily while losing ground to Biden for a reason. He’s in the worst position for an incumbent since Carter in 1980.
You can keep telling yourself that if you want, but Russiagate and Ukrainegate didn’t do jackshyt to Trump. His approval rating went UP after both. Nobody even remembers Trump was impeached and for what anymore.

Whenever his approval rating has gone down it was been due to horrible crisis management...

-Charlottesville
-Government shutdown
-Covid-19 pandemic
-George Floyd murder and protests

If it wasn’t for the pandemic and police murder protests, he’d still be in a fairly strong position to win.

shyt is kinda an act of war.
Not really because the Russians are themselves not the ones killing US troops.

And they want to scuttle the talks between the US and Taliban that were happening in Doha. The Russians want a piece of the action at the table so they made inroads with the Taliban. China also wants the US out of Afghanistan so that the Belt and Road initiative can run through Afghanistan into Iran.

But the US is never gonna leave. It has no foothold in central Asia if it leaves Afghanistan. The US will have no influence over how the Eurasian landmass becomes interconnected. It has little influence right now and that's because of Afghanistan.
