The Gene scenes are roughly a couple months after the events of "BB", and by extension, "El Camino".

How do we know this? Because in the opening of season 2 the janitor was listening to a Rich Eisen podcast from October 21st, 2010.

The writers said they put that in intentionally.

To further clarify what I'm saying, Walt's birthday is September 7th. The cold open from season 5A with the machine gun is on his birthday. So he would've been dead early September.

Fred.
is that what you talking about? Because that guy who found that out isn't a writer for the show nor can I find anybody besides the podcast that guy confirming this is the case considering this was posted on 2016. You got a link? And before Chicago come back thinking I'm being a dikkhead im not I think it's dope the writers go this deep with the lore and foreshadowing

I really prefer to think that the Gene scenes take place during "Granite State". I WANT them to lead to Gene watching Gretchen and Elliot from Gray Matter on TV.

I dont think kim dies, they just break up

We know nacho survives because he is mentioned in breaking bad when saul is pulled out in the desert and says "did loalo send you" because that was nacho not me.

I think nacho gets out, before was ordered to kill loalo by gus.

I think nacho puts a plan in place to escape while probably killing nacho and evading gus at the same time.

I dont think saul knows that nacho actually killed laolo, which is why he asked about him in breaking bad

LMAO @ COMPARING THEIR SITUATIONS
AT HHM.

SHE WAS ON AN INTERNSHIP
WHILE HE WAS GETTING CHARITY WORK
FROM HIS BROTHER.

SHE ACTUALLY WORKED FOR THE HHM
WHILE HE HELD HIS PRACTICE
IN THE CLOSET OF A NAIL SHOP.

SHES ALWAYS LOWERED
HER SELF TO HIS LEVEL.

I love the way this show, and like it's predecessor before, isn't afraid, and in fact, leans in to getting into the little details. Just that scene of Lalo cooking carnitas or machacha, or whatever dish that was, you could feel the air of the tiny hot Mexican spot, and the sizzle of the food on the grill, the way it would have bene in the air, and the cold Modelo's in the cooler. Just those little details immerse you into the character and the story, in the way the best art always does. Doesn't mean I love the show all the time, but I am invested in finishing it, and it always finds the same foundation to place it's stories, and build upon them.

No.

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould were on the Rich Eisen show....they requested a specific podcast from October 21st, 2010....Eisen said "you wanted a specific date that matched with your Cinnabon time line"....and they said "yes, that's right":

So....yeah. Walt is definitely dead in the flash forwards. The finale of "Breaking Bad" took place over 2, maybe 3 days. The end of October would be damn near a month and a half after that.

I'm just saying Gilligan... HIMSELF... toyed with the implication that the flash forwards happened BEFORE THE season finale.

Walt May Still Be Alive in the ‘Better Call Saul’ Flash-Forwards

Read my post above.

When they requested the podcast audio, they wanted a time table of 5 months. Meaning it's possible we'll see an earlier scene with Gene or maybe even Saul traveling to Omaha.

But from what we've seen so far....Walt is dead.

Besides, I would take anything said in those Insider Podcasts with a grain of salt. It's mostly them bullshytting among themselves. Those podcasts are how the rumor started that Gus was gay, despite Giancarlo Espositio knowing nothing about it, and it being nowhere in the script.

I'm making seasoned chicken tacos tonight. Now I may get some Modelos to go with them.

So, if that's the case you believe... purely due to the date of the Rich Eisen episode... then what did Ed mean when he was refusing to help Jesse initially when he said, “From where I see it, you made your own luck. As did your former partner. As did your lawyer?"

That doesn't add up at all, because we know Walt decided his own fate after leaving NH, and in this season opener of BCS, Jimmy/Saul/Gene decided to make his own luck as well. So, what did Ed meant by that if it wasn't about Saul denying to get bailed out by Ed the 2nd time because of getting made?
