Aye I like Saul wayyyyyyyy more than Jimmy. And while I give Kim props for holding Jimmy down, their situation was mutually beneficial. Remember, there was a time when both of them were riding the bench at HHM.

LMAO @ COMPARING THEIR SITUATIONS
AT HHM.

SHE WAS ON AN INTERNSHIP
WHILE HE WAS GETTING CHARITY WORK
FROM HIS BROTHER.

SHE ACTUALLY WORKED FOR THE HHM
WHILE HE HELD HIS PRACTICE
IN THE CLOSET OF A NAIL SHOP.

SHES ALWAYS LOWERED
HER SELF TO HIS LEVEL.

Jimmy always finds his way even tho he will use underhanded tactics but Kim can barely get on fukking pro bono client to take a good deal while Jimmy is knocking out 20 cases in a “broken” down elevator. Even at this point in the show dude is on another level and has ZERO issue scooping up clients that HHM and Kim would turn their noses at.
Yeah, but it's how he "finds his way" and gets the clients. Jimmy and Kim's approaches are completely different. Jimmy lives for the fukkery and the thrill. The show has shown him at every level. Breh had a Benz for a company car, had a high paying lawyer gig where he didn't have to embellish his services for clients... but he wasn't happy with that, he actually balked at the level of stability.

They are on different levels, he's closer being at a complete scumbag level while Kim carries herself with much more integrity and professionalism. The same things that Kim loses sleep over with her cases are the same things that Jimmy doesn't think twice about after he does it... especially if it works.

His love and loyalty for his pops is central to his character development tho.

He did that shyt with Hector's pills for his pops, he's going the extra mile to gain Lalo's trust for the sake of protecting his father. The snake shyt he's doing is due to circumstances and the pressure he's under.

idk, I just feel like he's a compassionate character for his family. Even with the Krazy 8 situation, he's not like some cold hearted killer. He implied he'd kill dude with Lalo, but he put that on the table because of the ultimatum that Gus gave him.

EDIT: To add on to this thought, I'm waiting to see if there will be an scenario where the tables are turned and Krazy 8 has to vouch for Nacho's life like he did briefly for his with Lalo. That's kind of what I'm getting at with my post

:dahell:NACHO WOULD KILL KRAZY 8
WITHOUT GIVING IT A 2ND THOUGHT
IF LALO GAVE HIM THE WORD
SO I STILL DONT SEE YOUR POINT.

DUDE IS ALL ABOUT HIMSELF AND HIS POPS.

HE DOESNT HAVE LOYALTY
TO ANY OF THESE CATS.

But if the only way you can handle the workload is using underhanded tactics, of course someone is going to question how you can handle it.

Kim struggling to get her pro bono client to accept a deal is exactly why she questioned Saul. She was going to have to prep for a trial because a client, who seemingly did the shyt, rejected a good deal.

What would've happened if 35 of Saul's clients did that?

And that’s the magic of Jimmy/Saul. We as the viewer see all the wild shyt he’s doing to make his moves but no one else sees it. Those DAs and other lawyers can only wonder how he’s pulling this shyt off while harboring contempt for him at the same time.

So he’s like fukk it, and scrapes up clients that would otherwise be at the mercy of their public defender. Kim would be better off falling in line and letting him do his thing but you KNOW she’s already at the end of her rope. The optics of Saul the lawyer will have her looking funny to her legit clients/colleagues, so it’s just a matter of how they part ways. Does she flat out move away, get disbarred or get killed on some Salamanca/Fring shyt. Hell, maybe she eats a 2 piece from Pollos Hermanos that’s laced with crystal lol

YOU DIDNT SEE THAT BAG OF DIAMONDS HE HAD?

EL CAMINO TAKES PLACE IMMEDIATELY AFTER BB...

I STRONGLY DOUBT THESE GENE SCENES
TAKE PLACE BEFORE EL CAMINO
UNLESS SAUL WAS ONLY HIDING FOR
A FEW MONTHS BEFORE GETTING MADE.

BCS STARTED IN MAY OF 2002...

JIMMY GETS DISBARRED IN FEB OF 2003.

BCS SEASON 5 STARTS IN MARCH OF 2004.

BB STARTS IN SEP OF 2008.

I just rewatched El Camino he says after Jesse came up short on cash he says “From where I see it, you made your own luck. As did your former partner. As did your lawyer.” meaning when Jesse didn't take that ride after that everything was on him.. when Walt left his hideout everything that happened after that was on him... And now after that cold opening we see Jimmy refusing ED's help also. The writers don't put lines like that in their show as throwaways. Saul is done for sadly. also we have no gauge how long he been hiding.

its been 7 real life years since breaking bad ended and he just has a mustache he looks older because the actor is older and its in black and white which made walter look crazy too in season 5. el camino was september 7 2010 when walt died confirmed in the movie. its no way that line was a throwaway when they were writing better call saul before el camino was even a thought past things the head writer said on record.... the writers write smarter than that also here's the timeline Breaking Bad Timeline Explained: From Saul to El Camino

:what:HE LOOKS OLDER BECAUSE HIS CHARACTER HAS DAMN NEAR LOST ALL HIS HAIR.

THIS SHOW DEBUTED 5 YRS AGO
AND HE LOOKED OLDER 5 YRS AGO.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE HE LOST
HIS HAIR IN A FEW MONTHS.

bob odenkirk hair is thin in real life. his hair is fake in BCS. so they removed it and made him look wore down and tired just like walt in season 5 which are the point of the cold openings.

:rudy:nikka I KNOW WHAT HIS HAIR
LOOKS LIKE IN REAL LIFE.

THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
TO DO WITH THE SAUL CHARACTER.

HIS CHARACTER DOESNT
WEAR A TOUPEE ON THE SHOW
SO IM NOT BUYING HE LOST HIS HAIR
IN A FEW MONTHS.

SAULS CHARACTER DOESNT WEAR A TOUPEE

i didnt say he did. the actor does. which has nothing to do with my stance which was ED told us in el camino him walter and the saul tried it on their own and everybody had bad outcomes not listening to ED...which was the point of the line........ jesse was caged up and forced to cook, now he back on the run looking for a way out, walter killed himself saving jesse, saul is the unknown which they left out on purpose because the show is still running...

so adding all that up knowing what we know plus what saul just did that lines gotta mean more than nothing. way they would put all those things together and not want us to catch it. that's how this show worked from the jump. the hair dont mean nothing
