No you don't. You think you do until the reset button is actually pushed.

99% of the time this is true. Revolution is almost always bloody. But I kinda agree with Malcolm when he said this might be one of the only places ever in history where a bloodless revolution is possible.

With that said, I really hope Bernie cultivates the next crop of young progressive politicians on the backend. If he can’t win, he should at least work to build the progressive wing.

The progressive movement will live and die with southern black folks and older black people. What Bernie couldn’t convince them of is that this time will be different. And I don’t know how to either. I’ve never organized in the south.

It was a huge drop of the ball on his part. Considering the history of “Black Power” and people like Stokley Carmichael organizing and empowering Black voters in the Deep South.

Maybe he felt like establishment Dems had too much of a leg up since Biden was O’s VP but it doesn’t mean you completely ignore that segment of voters. In fact, progressives have done a bad job of reaching out to the poor white voters that are increasingly flocking over to trump. You would think the progressive bloc would have poor whites, poor/middle class Blacks, and immigrants all together under one accord. They gotta solve that.

How did he ignore them? People campaigned for him hard and early in the process in the south. Biden did next to nothing.

Wasn’t enough campaigning I guess. Enlighten me, what did Bernie’s campaign do to make the south a voting stronghold for himself? One would assume a person running under Bernie’s platform would do far better. Or at least would find ways to counter Biden’s status as former VP to Obama.

I think there was nothing that could’ve been done so differently , I wish bernie attacked Biden but at the same time he couldn’t have done it to great effect after Super Tuesday and it looked like Biden was dead in the water. Though he never should’ve done things like deny Bidens corruption or say my friend joe or yeah joe can beat trump , even agreeing to auto support the dem nominee I now think is a mistake , trump held that hostage over the GOP and it worked , even if you think Dems worship their leaders which I don’t think is auto true cause I also think a lot of Bernie’s 2016 support was just anti Hilary , but regardless playing nice with them gets you nothing , Bernie despite the propaganda played extremely nice, was winning a crowded field and last minute they still said no and coalesced around a dude with dementia that also any criticism they had of bernie is worse for Biden from being an old white man to running the worst campaign ever. The lesson is not “ how can bernie or the next progressive kiss ass to centrists enough so we win” that’s gaslighting , these people would never vote for a progressive agenda no matter what and you were better off taking a chance and calling them all out. I like Bernie but he showed no spine this time . Even though he was also nice in 2016 he was a little more combative than this time

to me it’s the same as when centrist Dems think they’re just gonna have a beer with republicans or compromise and they’ll be able to get things done when we know that’s bs , Obamacare a right wing plan and not one republican voted for it , it’s the same shyt

A large part of me wants to be petty and let people feel more pain but that’s not completely in my nature and solves nothing. It just really hurts to see a lot of us run to Biden and Dems who don’t do shyt for us and then see things like these two.

Black Americans Face Alarming Rates of Coronavirus Infection in Some States

Median wealth of black Americans 'will fall to zero by 2053', warns new report

Then we’ve got Biden who isn’t as progressive as we need to be with existential threats like climate change. And he isn’t gonna attempt to get at the issues that led us to Trump. People keep treating Trump like the disease and not the symptom he is. shyt won’t get better just cause we vote him out, the real work starts after that. :francis:

Like others said, I hope Bernie works to strengthen the Progressive wing. Hopefully it won’t be too late.
