Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Strong follow up. However, the strange folks at the docks seemed a bit shoehorned in/the brutha on the island turning into a dummy horror movie cliche at the worst moment possible

Yes, all of this. It was very intense with its masterful use of sound but I thought they could have done both of these scenes better. I also don't get why that crippled boy would try to go exploring. I was so mad at him! lol. But overall, I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it's better than the first. I think the novelty and unexpected nature of the first movie gives it an edge over this one. As far as sequels go though, this was pretty damn good.

this shyt was
just average

pros
  • The little girl going on her own and being the lone solider was cool.
  • the scene where main dude escaped by ringing his bottle necklace and stabbed dude to get killed by alien was cool although no explanation who they were.
  • most tense part was little kid locking himself in the tube by accident. dying by no oxgen would be brutal and the baby as well
  • i legit didnt jump scare at anything. i was close at the beginning with the bear trap on kids leg. He really sold the pain facially.

cons

  • Black dude from "Amistad" was in the film for like 10 mins then he was killed :mjpls:
  • her hearing aid took quite the abuse. Hard falls, water, in dudes mouth, just wear and tear. Cells phones break with one good fall :yeshrug:
  • Ending just ended on sum lame hero shyt but maybe its a setup for a part 3.
  • i really dont like the baby angle. That baby would've been toasted in real life.

overall: 5/10

The climatic scenes were fukking fantastic. I loved the dock scene. The whole ending was great. Krasinski did an amazing job directing.

I also was reminded how much I hate large movie audiences. I had a family sitting next to me who clearly hadn't even see the first fukking Quiet Place movie. This 12-13 year old kid asks "IS SHE DEAF???!!" When it showed the scene from the daughters perspective in the truck and she can't hear anything, despite her using sign language for 10 minutes before that. Then they proceeded to chomp on popcorn and NACHO CHIPS during the ENTIRE 1hr 30min movie How the fukk do you make a bag of popcorn and a thing of nachos last 1hr 30min.. And every now and then the teenage kid would ask a question that the movie was clearly going to explain if you just shut the fukk up and watch the movie.

God I hate people.

no real plot holes that stand out
NAH BREH....somebody is gonna hafta explain how
If the damn aliens can't SEE, how the hell did one of them navigate that boat all the way to the island? We're talking about a small island off the Atlantic Coast....so that's the ATLANTIC Ocean. You mean to tell me that the alien couldn't hear the mother in the barn because of the running water but it was supposed to be able to hear shyt popping off ALLLLL the way on the island to where it knew how to navigate there off SOUND, and supposedly OVER the sound of the ocean?

Plus......ya mans Djimon Hounsou does all that to get to the radio station and then doesn't close the damn garage door? So you REALLY just gonna stand there and argue about going back to save your family and NOT close the damn door? :comeon:

But yeah....just caught the Saturday afternoon matinee of this jawn, it was worth it and it sets up nicely for the sequel.

But my spoiler above IS a major plot hole. Me and wife were in the theater like :martin::martin::martin::martin:

:martin:

But that was my first time being INSIDE a movie theater since 2019. :wow:
