Levi out there getting a lot of interior pressure. He looks really good. You can tell the conditioning/strength isn't all the way there, which makes sense given how little he's been able to play or train. But he looks like a guy who could look really explosive later in the season.

Yea I assume it's not real but we'll see. Houston did an interview earlier in camp with The Ringer and mentioned he was about to quit football until he got added to the 53 man roster last season, and his frustrations with the staff; he didn't say anything bad about the coaches, he was just frustrated about his role. All the reports from camp suggest he's been stuck in the 2nd and 3rd string, working on LB stuff. I get trying to make him a more well rounded player but...this dude is fukking special. And if they can't regularly get him on the field to make plays, trade him elsewhere where the staff is smart enough to let him get 10+ sacks a year.

I love Houston but he can only play in a clear pass rushing situation.
Play him on 1st or 2nd down and offense will just run it at him
This. The decision to keep him should boil down to how much they need a specialist. I think our defensive line is too deep to need to keep him but i'd hate to see him go.

He improved at run defense and our LBs also make that an easier job for him now. I just feel like we're not being smart about this. He is really fukking good. Maybe things change next year, when that EDGE/DE room will reduce. I assume Romeo Okwara is gone after this season, assuming he makes the team. Maybe that would free up more space for Houston.
Reminds me of when we got Van Noy and the coaches kept trying to make him a coverage LB. Then he went to the Patriots, moved to his natural position on the outside and thrived. Given the amount of 5 man fronts this defense is gonna be running this season, I see no reason why Houston shouldn't be out there wrecking havoc.
