I figure they will cancel each other out and Sasha Baron Cohen will win Best Supporting Actor. Especially since he is the only acting nom for The Trial of the Chicago 7.
Oh boy!

I say Daniel has the arc not Lakeith. He starts and ends in the same place. The person with the arc is the lead. Daniel’s character goes through a full arc in terms of change. Bill doesn’t change much. They both go through stuff but bill is the same at the beginning as he is in the end.
I would disagree. William O'Neal's story was the plot of the movie and what happened to Fred was a part of O'Neal's arc.
Just because O'Neal started out as a piece of shyt and ended as a piece of shyt doesn't change that the piece of shyt was the primary focus of the movie.
See that’s where I disagree too. By definition, the lead is the person with the arc. Just like in training day, Alonzo was the focus of the movie in some respects and had the larger performance, but he’s not by definition the lead role. Ethan hawke is the lead because it’s his arc. That’s how I feel about this movie
So much for Sonic the Hedgehog being nominated for Best Picture.
What weird-ass discussion is this regarding Judas & The Black Messiah? One could argue that they are both leads but if it's only one of them then clearly Lakeith is the lead.
Anyway, outside of the expected but absolutely disgusting love for Mank this is actually one of the more solid Oscar nomination lists in years. That limited release slate ended up being good for one thing. The biggest snub here is Delroy Lindo.
Also, all the people who voted that trash screenplay for The White Tiger in need to be thrown out. fukking awful piece of overwritten expository garbage.
is Mank?
1930s Hollywood is reevaluated through the eyes of scathing wit and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he races to finish "Citizen Kane."
Director: David Fincher
Boseman and Kaluuya were supposed to be chopping it up about winning oscars this year on the set of BP2Justice for Delroy
Justice for Regina King
Delroy got absolutely SHAFTED. I would have given Spike a nod in Best Director for Da Five Bloods also but if it came down to him and Regina I would’ve went with Regina this year.
I also feel Shaka King isn’t getting enough love for his directing but he can get an Oscar if Judas wins Best Original Screenplay
I just REALLY want to see Daniel win Best Supporting. He and Chadwick had two of the three best performances of the year in my opinion (the other being Delroy)
Chadwick will 100% win Best Actor. Thats a lock. I remember watching him in Lincoln Heights and to see how far he’s come and having passed away just as he was about to be crowned the new Black King Of Hollywood is fukking depressing
